Goleta 1979, 1981
When I look at the information available from Sudden Terror. I have a feeling that EAR/ONS was house sitting for either friends or relatives in Goleta in 1979 and 1981. The person or persons who owned the home that ear/ons was house sitting were probably overseas for a period of time (July or August to January) and could not take their dog with them so they got EAR/ONS to house sit and take care of their dog.
I think the woman who encountered the man with the injured dog probably was speaking to EAR/ONS. The owners of the home most likely gave EAR/ONS the telephone number of their friend who lived in Goleta that he could call in case of an emergency. He call the number at the woman's house. The owners of the house's friend came and got him and the injured dog.
If the woman is still alive that he spoke to, used her phone and sent a rose to if she can help give a sketch to police of the person who used her phone. Most likely we would be looking at EAR/ONS as he looked in the 1979-1981 period.

If he was a student at Sac, I'm just trying to make sense of his stay in the Summer of 1978 through 1979 in the bay area as well as Modesto and Stockton. Maybe a job/internship, etc.
Maybe he was trying to earn money for tuition. Living with invalid grandparents could also explain how he was able to be out at all hours of the night.

The poem indicates that he may have had some type of post secondary learning.

I agree. Although he's no Shakespeare, it does seem to indicate some education beyond high school. ErikDavid, you bring up some good points. I agree that he had access to money. It just doesn't make sense why he did not take it the majority of the time when he had the opportunity aside from a few instances if he did not need it. Who does not need $$$? Somebody who has access to it. As far as the vehicles go, the evidence is somewhat speculative. The vehicles that were spotted in proximity to the crimes scenes could or could not have been involved. I tend to think that most were not, but I'm sure he had a car in Sac.

Or perhaps he wasn't taking money because he was afraid his parents would find it.

Re: Goleta 1979, 1981
If he needed the money for tuition he would have taken all of the money from the victims because he had no feelings for them. If he was desperate for money he would have probably taken the gun and try to sell it instead of throwing it away. If he needed money badly he would have taken the jewelry and try to sell it or pawn it. It seems that he did not need the money. This guy was no fool also he knew that the cops would be checking pawn shops and would be speaking to criminal contacts about stolen guns.

Guys this is probably one of the most important discussions I took part in. It showed me the importance of Goleta 1979 in cracking this case.

who supported the guy
If he was schizophrenic (sp.?) perhaps his parents were supporting him. That was the case with my most current POI and his friend. Both were being supported by their wealthy parents. Both parents were attorney's...I think one was a judge.

The poem
Sorry if this has already been resolved, but do we know if the poem has been confirmed as being written by EAR-ONS?
Also can anyone confirm that other poems by EAR-ONS exist?I have read conflicting information on both issues; and ask because the known poem of course gives us information about EAR-ONS' probable education levels and - by default - his likely socio-economic status (ie. middle class or above).

But I don't know for 100% sure if they were confirmed. But I have a strong belief they were that is the reason why one of them was posted here.

Thanks Peterlee
I recall someone saying that the published poem may not have been genuine (despite the mafia references etc).
I believe the published poem to be genuine, but suppose it's possible that the poem could have been a fake written by a cop investigating the case or something like that - sounds crazy I know but this alledgedly happened with the zodiac case.It would be great if Arch, Guessting, SOE or someone like that could confirm or deny!
