"Slumbergirl-as always your posts are insightful and thought provoking. Like Brad, I too am a fan. I think as the EAR our guy almost certainly took steps to alter the physical characteristics he presented during both the recon and actual components of his crimes. One thing that occurs to me are not only the variations in hair color but also the variations in length and style of hair. Sometimes he is described as having a short "military style" do. Other victims and witnesses describe shoulder length hair that on at least one occasion might have been "permed" to vary his appearance. I wonder if there might have been times when he used wigs to assist in altering his appearance. It is my understanding that the use of wigs and hairpieces were not unheard of during the 1970's military when some military personnel billeted stateside sought to blend in with their long and big haired civilian peers when socializing off base. While I'm not suggesting that this creep's idea of "socializing" off base was anywhere near normal perhaps he used some of the same techniques and practices of his peers in the military to blend in with the herd."
Playinem - I hardly recognized you! You've lost your nice lime-green color! Thank you for the nice comments. I agree that the reports point to him probably wearing wigs, at times - maybe he exclusively used wigs and never dyed his hair - or a combination of both. I was also reading about what types of coats to wear during crimes to disguise your body shape and hide the fact that you are carrying a weapon. That reminded me of some of the clothing I have read of him wearing. We know he must have spent a lot of time fantasizing and planning his crimes. He probably "dressed up" in various disguises in his bedroom - as part of his "hobby" (on second thought, I think this was his main occupation - not a hobby).
