Do you happen to remember the poster named "Aseri", who was active for some time on the Mr Y subforum. "Aseri" is an acronym for "IsEar". He posted in May of 2016, left, then came back in July of 2016 for a short period. I found his posts very suspicious, and tried to save many of them. Here are some:
over usage of the word "believe":
I do believe the VR became the EARONS...
I believe he is a coward...
I believe that aside from the perpetrator being unstable and strange...
referring to the VR:
"I Iive so close, wish I had an inside man at the VPD. lot of things id love to look at, ask about, clarify etc... anyway since I live close, if I can be of service to anyone in any manner regarding...anything, feel free to hit me up. I think there's a lot to the VR connection and it deserves some serious follow up and working on towards other things."
On EAR:
"if alive, I believe it possible, maybe even likely, that he would do (or if dead, has done) vanity searches. he might also lurk on sites discussing him, like this forum. i do believe; however, that he may be a little too cautious to post himself. if he were to do so, it would be under the guise of another person, so as, to avoid being identified. i think he would play the role well, too, as to avoid suspicion at all cost. so many serial killers and famous criminals love the celebrity attention lavished on them by certain media outlets, and a particular public subculture that adores them, both when they are captured, and also when their identity remains unknown. sometimes it seems to me that the line between fame and infamy either doesn't exist, or is a concept not understood by these people who admire these monsters in our society."
This one is very interesting (referring to another serial killer), he talks about his personal experience at a very young age--being helpless to stop it. JJD's very young sister was raped in front of him when he was a boy:
"in my opinion, he is obviously guilty and I believe anyone who is well informed on the matter and of sound mind would have to come to the same conclusion. I'm glad he is locked up now anyway, albeit for different crimes. you'd think he would've been smart enough to keep the lowest possible profile after cheating justice, go figure. I look forward to seeing the program on the matter, I've heard good things about it. I really don't like men who beat women, as I have personal experience growing up around it and being helpless to stop it, as I was too young. it is even worse how it can and sometimes does escalate to murder, as in this case. a terrible crime indeed."
refers to a "cop from Sacramento", do not have the post that prompted his response.
"a cop from sac, he doesn't want to be identified on a public forum. I dislike the secrecy surrounding information on this case, I think it often hurts chances of it moving forward in a positive direction. that said, I keep my word to those who ask as much of me, so I suppose it can be taken for what it's worth, with a grain of salt, however each individual feels to treat the information in question and who it comes from (in this case me). for what it's worth, I have no reason to lie personally, that would lead to the opposite of my goal."
again refers to friend in LE:
"so I'm going out for dinner and drinks with a friend of mine from law enforcement, the forensic artist i mentioned previously, and all of our wives this Friday. I'll bring the idea and information up and discuss it all with him at some point during the evening. hopefully he will be receptve to the possibility, as well as a nice guy. I'll be sure and let you all know what transpires, here's to positive mental thought on the matter! wish me luck."
and again refers to LE:
"welcome to the board ghostheart! too live there, here, whatever heh. I am very sorry for your loss and hope it is one day resolved. the police in Fresno aren't that great in my opinion, and It's known for certain that corruption is still a major problem from the top on down: with this in mind I should also say that I am not a police basher, it's just the reality of life here. although I've lived in places with both worse and better cops. you probably know what i mean. I've personally had no real positive experiences wit them, and I'm not a criminal at all. regardless of all of that, i do have some connections to the police in this city and one gentlemen at city hall (they are friends and family by marriage)"
On DNA:
"oh man, DNA has been such a great advancement, I can't praise it enough. I believe he would've had a much greater chance at being caught with today's forensics and such, but then there is also the possibility that if the EAR was active today, instead of back then, he would have been aware of DNA and other new tools used by law enforcement and been even more proficient at avoiding capture and keeping from leaving any evidence behind that could be traced back to him, such as semen. I would imagine if he was alive (as I suspect he was [and possibly still is]) the widespread news and use of DNA to identify and capture offenders, as well as it's increasingly improving science related to it (and other forensic sciences) concerned him quite a bit, the prospect of finally being revealed in the light of day to all at what a monster he truly is. maybe he still feels that he's living on borrowed time. if alive, i hope he never feels safe. just like he made his victims feel so many years ago."
On the VR, and pre VR crimes:
"as others have mentioned the possibility of EARONS being the (or one of the) Visalia Ransacker(s), I will add my opinion that it is almost absolutely certain that he committed crimes prior to what is known. like the OP mentioned, offenders often increase in both the severity and amount of crimes they commit. often done so as they need more stimulation to replicate the prior high once achieved by lesser criminal acts. just like with drug use. I would bet my life on it that there are unknown crimes of his, likely as he started out with peeping, B&E, etc. a popular line of thought and inquiry is to discover a crime of his before he had his motive down perfect and so as such made mistakes which can lead to his identification. there are such matters being looked into now related to this."
On sliding glass doors:
"in one of the houses I lived in when I was younger in the valley we had a sliding glass door that could easily be broken into sans screw diver. I remember multiple times getting locked out and just pushing in and up on the glass and it would pop open. not very secure of a design, but then the place was built at the beginning of the 70's...."
Referring to being a cop:
"Now, if I were a cop, that's an entirely different thing. I had some police training during my career in the Marines. There are a lot of things I would've done I can think of, too numerous to list in one post as far as I can imagine, but anyway I thought I'd contribute something to this thread on the subject here."
Experience as Vietnam vet:
"In my military background, from personal experience, (I can't go into too much detail for state security reasons) I can state that there are certain people who are trained to do similar things then and now, by then I am referring to the war in Vietnam..."
