Agree! They made lots of great music post-Tattoo You--most people just aren't as aware of it thanks to the juggernaut mainstream media blitz that says they only existed as a band when Brian Jones was still alive, or when Tails' Les Paul would scream out of the left channel.
In particular, Keef's solo albums are excellent--with Talk Is Cheap being the very best of those specimens. I still owe you a big one for that recommendation, goldrusher. Looking forward to that scrumptious two-disc set due out in a few weeks! And that steroided Van box for The Healing Game.
For post 81 Stones material--
- Voodoo Lounge, 94.--Keef & Woody "weave" almost as poetically here as they do on Girls--and with a ton of overwhelming muscle to back it up. Highlight: "Blinded By Rainbows," and "Baby Break It Down." Cut in 93, but could've easily come outta 72 and Exile.
- A Bigger Bang, 05.
- Blue & Lonesome (covers LP), 16.*
Word is that they are at work on a new album with all new material. Also: Keef has supposedly finished a studio album with Sheryl Crow--love her as a songwriter, singer, and guitarist--and several other notables. "Bring It!"

*It amazes me to this day that a group of 70+ year olds put together such a tremendous package of their favorite tunes from childhood--they've come "Full Circle," as Col. Trautman would counsel Rambo. It also doesn't hurt that their longtime producer, Don Was, approaches recording them in the same fashion that their former (and LEGENDARY!) producer Jimmy Miller did.
YOU MET Don Was??!!
