blablabla (lol, feels funny to address you that way!),
If you are referring to my original post please look at my second line.
I'm not asking you to believe anything. I pointed out why I think he isn't the Zodiac and I pointed out compelling facts that he might be.
I also point out that it's very possible, and I think likely, that DeAngelo pretended to be the Zodiac to throw LE off.
Please read more carefully...read the similarity to the ending of a Zodiac letter and to the ending lines in "Excitement's Crave". Also notice that Excitement's Crave was written before the Zodiac letter but was not released to the public for years.
I point out the problem with the progression of violence theory, but the very excellent detective Larry Pool says that it doesn't always hold true. He said that many times a very young offender will commit his first murder and then not kill again for years. But I agree with you, and I think being the Zodiac and many killings is different. I do believe he killed Eva Taylor though and that she may have been DeAngelo's first victim.
I disagree with you about DeAngelo knowing about the Mikado, what information do you have to back that up? He was college educated, he may have been exposed to a lot of things in his education. We don't know if his mother or father or step father may have liked Opera etc. It might come to light in the future he did too. Why is it the dumb, uneducated, full of misspellings, weirdo Zodiac would have interest in it but not DeAngelo.
EDIT---The ploy of telling the victims he only wanted money, not to worry, was a common ploy. The Zodiac only did that once---at the Lake Berryessa attack. Some people, myself included, think the Lake B. attack might well have been an imposter, since it was a lot different than the other Z attacks.
And yes, again I agree about the non-sexual attacks of the Zodiac but then there are all the other things.
I don't want to take credit for others work, the 12-26-75 podcasters have really researched and come up with lots of interesting things. In Episode 23, half way through the podcast, they bring up all of this info and they tend to think DeAngelo was pretending to be the Zodiac for some unknown reason. I agree with them as this being the most likely situation. I think the most likely reason was to misdirect LE. Something he always tried to do.
Telling victims he only wanted money, not to worry, could be a common ploy, however, I am mentioning that in total. When you put it together with all the other things he said and did, it's the accumulation of so many things. But the thing to know is if all of these things were published. Did DeAngelo know all of these things. The Zodiac could not have known of Excitement's Crave, it wasn't made public for many years to come, yet was written 5 months before.
Lake Berryessa is considered one of the "confirmed" Zodiac attacks.
