Here is another message from Arch, this time regarding the two profiles created at the AETV website by someone unknown.

This thread begins with Proboard poster "evaliant" wondering about those incidents.  The second discussion is Arch's "timeline" of relevant events.  And this is followed by more responses.

None of the discussion below proves that the EAR/ONS was actually lurking at the AETV message board.  It's just that the incidents are interesting speculations that he might have been.

Oct. 1, 2000 - Articles about DNA connecting the "Original Night Stalker" crimes published.

January 19, 2001 - MSNBC Investigates "Deadly Behavior" (EAR/ONS) airs

April 4, 2001 - Articles about ONS DNA connected to EAR DNA published.

Feb. 2, 2002 - Second "EAR" A&E User profile created. (This is the anniversary of the Maggiore murders. The Maggiore murders are considered by some to be the EAR's first murders).

Feb. 14, 2002 - Increase in publicity surrounding the EAR/ONS including Colleen Cason's series "Silent Witness". The case received the most publicity in 2002, mainly with the "Silent Witness" series.

July 22, 2002 - The Unsolved Mysteries segment of the EAR/ONS aired.

2002 - EAR victim receives a call purportedly from the EAR/ONS.

Sept. 2, 2003 - A&E "Cold Case Files" The Original Night Stalker airs (probably with the EAR DNA-link material added).

Unknown 2003 - A&E created CCF Discussion Board called, "Do You Have Any Information About the Original Night Stalker?" (The AETV Community already existed as far back as 2000).

Oct. 2003 - Sacramento Magazine publishes "Unsolved Mystery" article on the EAR/ONS.

Early 2004, www.ear-ons.com website created.

Sept. 24, 2004 - MSNBC Investigates Deadly Behavior (EAR/ONS) re-airs

May 4, 2009 - THS Investigates the Original Night Stalker Press Release Disseminated

May 4, 2009 - "ear" private message asking "who is this"? read by persons unknown. No one replied to the PM. (This is the anniversary of Janelle Cruz murder. Janelle Cruz murder is considered to be the last known murder committed by the EAR/ONS).

So the ear profile is created in the same month as Dark Heart Iron Hand hits the airwaves. For those of you who have not seen it is by far the most graphic of all the EAR/ONS coverage. Did the airing of his crimes tempt him from his hiding place all of these years? I believe that just like the phone call in 1990/1991 I think he threw caution to the wind and did it. After all this was before the EAR/ONS crimes were all linked together, so it was generally a safe exercise but I am sure it satisified his ego for the time being. The East Area Rapist had not been in the press for about 20 years at that point.

The second time the offender would post he knew that he would have to up the game. It would have been too risky to post under the ear profile he created. In 2001 the EAR/ONS crimes had been linked and that same year Unsolved Mysteries did a show on both sets of crimes. Again his ego pushed him into doing something. Why not wait and post to when there is a date of real signifigance? It woud have been too obvious to create a profile with the date of a known killing. He knew that any prankster could pull that off. He decided to create a profile on the day that he and only he would know what he meant.

The Maggiore murders as far as the public was concerned was not any way related to EAR until the 2003 Sacramento Magazine news article. [interesting bit of info related to the Maggiore case, Drifter] He might have thought there might have been a handful of retired detectives that might had a hunch but that is all. No DNA to say either way. What a fun game he thought. It was low risk considering he used a public terminal and the few people might know might not even have thought to look for his profile. Either way it satisified his need. He is out there.

My first thought about this thread was that it was some idiot playing games,but then it just hit me about the dates..OMG! I wish they could have snagged the IP address even if it was at a library!

There is a strong possibility it was him..I'm positive he did Magglore,he tried to pick them off the street and it didn't work..The way he chased them down was pure crazy ONS!

I'm not saying it was him but if it was, that's a pretty poor way to try and open up a dialogue with him. I doubt anyone here would answer a PM that said, "Who are you?".

What I'm saying is that if this account was EAR, then what kind of response was expected by asking, "Who are you?". It's a very poor way of approaching the situation.

I was told by both G and Arch NOTHING was done because these accounts made 0 posts. In other words they were NOT investigated.

I think the "ear" user name before the dna link should have sent all investigators into curious mode,the other names may be dubious,but if it was ear/ons he is basically saying there is a link before an official link...I wonder if pool ever really looked at it that way?

G is the person who provided me with the documentation.  She found other profiles that matched exact phrases used in EAR attacks.
