The Golden State Killer won't be in the title of my book, no. There's an interesting story about how that name came about, who was consulted, the process we went through, but I'll leave it for the book. Unless the name changes and then I'll come back here and tell the story.

The tentative title is "I'll Be Gone in the Dark."

Thank you Sandia for your kind words about my speaking voice. I got a chance to speak on the phone with FBI profiler Roy Hazelwood about this case. At the end of the conversation he said, "Can I ask you something?" "Sure," I said. "How old are you?" "Forty-four." "You sound 19," he said. After I hung up I began worrying that that was code for speaking like a Valley Girl, which I'm guilty of occasionally. Thankfully there's not a lot of "like, um, awesome" in my book, so hopefully I will do the audio. I'd like to.

I've been getting a few emails about when the book is coming out. I'm still conducting interviews and doing a lot of the reporting. I don't have a release date just yet. I'll let people know when I know.

Michelle, I like your title, it is catchy and of course it is what he really said.  Who talks like that except in the movies or in a book of fiction.  There are various things that are a gold mine in "Excitement's Crave"  among which is "deserving pest" somehow I think I've heard that somewhere.  I'm thinking he got it from a Batman comic book?

  As for your speaking voice, I simply speak the truth.   I am really looking forward to your book.

No one needs to be sued.

But I would like to title my film that, with your permission of course! Script is done and I have a financier, but we're still raising more money to match what we have. Let him see it on TV!!!!

I have decided to name my film something else, due to its change in genre and direction. However, it is something pertaining to his alleged "writings". Still... I would like to let Miss McNamara know that EC is the pefect title for a book! With the idea lady, Miss Sandia's permission, I relinquish the title to her!

Actually, since I've been reading Shelby's book, I noticed that the diamond knot was used on one of his first victims. So some years back that got discredited somehow, saying he only used it once. Well, so far, I haven't finished the book, there has been one mention of it back at the beginning of his crime saga, as well as the Smith's, and I wonder how many other times? Of course he started removing ligatures after the Smith's. I think "The Diamond Knot Killer" is a catchy title, and an intriguing clue. I'm back to that, "If" we're voting but, sadly, I don't think we have any say in it.

That's it. Shelby only mentioned the diamond knot in relation to that early EAR attack and the Smith murders. I do wonder if there were other cases, most definitely...

Maybe that is more significant than we assume.

Since the DNA connection to the Original Night Stalker relates only to the east Bay rapes, the diamond knot may be an alternative connection between the Original Night Stalker and the East Area Rapist.

It's an unusual and difficult knot. So if the guy used it on one of Sacramento's first victims then the knot, instead of DNA, kinda connects the ONS to Sacramento. No?

Or maybe everyone else has figured this connection out already, and I'm just slow to catch on.

I think "Gone In The Dark" is a perfect title. He said that to so many victims. I am anxiously awaiting Michelle's book. I wish she was still with us to record the audio version, she would do a great job.
