I sense people HOPING that Q is wrong.  I mean it's about the families and justice, right? It shouldn't be about about your egos, or your cheerleading for your favorite crank writer? Plenty of people in this thread notice the motives of the long-time posters and their desire for Quasar to fail. Ridiculous and weird. We're not buying your reasons. But let's outline them....


The reasons thus far:

1.) Wanting Quasar to be right is a form of the internet generation's instant gratification. Apparently, our elders knew how to wait patiently on a cold case?

2.) Quasar's site - with an influence greater than the MSM - is doing massive harm by spreading misinformation and corrupting the minds of the youth. 

3.) This site - much respected and much visited for clues by law enforcement and Scotland Yard - is in danger of losing it's reputation with law enforcement. If cold cases detectives won't log onto this site to read such speculative gems as "who is bonnie!!!?", I fear this case will never be cracked. 

4.) Quasar is not Macnamara.

Push I think overwhelmingly people just want to know. This guy has been a ghost for 40 years. Everyone and I mean every single person has their opinions on what, where and when. The only person who knows whether they are right or wrong(if he is alive) is ONS himself. That is the thing there is no right or wrong answer. Yes some are far fetched ideas out there. I always tell my students when I teach there is no such thing as a right or wrong answer (unless dealing in absolutes such as mathematics). I for one hope he or she is right. I have been critical of LE and the sequesting of evidence in this case. There are some pretty intelligent amateur Sleuths who have their own POIs and for good reason as well. I want to see how he was cleared as well to put it to rest once and for all. Let's see what happens and hopefully we get definitive answers.

We will know who he is one day due to advancements in DNA . Whether dead or alive he will be identified. 5 years? 10 years who knows? But he will be unmasked so time is running out!

I think Q is talking about his own allergies.

I don't think he is backtracking on the 99%, he reiterates that the clues have led him to a type of individual and it is a matter of finding an employee that matches that profile. He has identified two possible POIs. One appears to be LJD, listed as owner of American River Auto Wrecking and possibly the name to go with the photos put up on this board yesterday.

Did anybody notice that American River Auto Parts was established in 1984? It would suggest L.X.D did not inherited this business. Of course he could work in other similar company before setting up his own.

That's not true, there are records going back well before that. Go here: kepler.sos.ca.gov/ - and search for "american river auto wrecking", records there go back to 1978, and according to those records 1978 is when the company was "merged out", whatever that means, so it obviously existed well before that.

That being said, if Q is telling the truth about his POI not being Ld, then I doubt american river auto wrecking is the company in question at all.

Time will tell. I'm willing to wait and see. Anybody here have a source in the DA's office that can verify they've been contacted with Q's info? Of course Q hasn't mentioned which DA's office . . .

For one thing, the witness was pretty clear in saying he was standing behind the bush or hedge and didn't need to get up to walk away. If he had been sitting or laying down, the witness would not have seen he was lacking pants or possibly wearing white shorts.

You know there is really nothing funny about this case at all!! So pardon the humor for a moment. One poster hit it on the head a while back and I gave me a good laugh for a while. I think you and I and some of the other posters on here are thinking something is really amiss here. Maybe we are making more out of it than it actually is? Even before this latest story blew up I mean the 3 toed dog, a guy at red light tapping on a woman's drivers side window with a knife and then thinks he can outrun the car on his bike!!!! Don't forget the car accident where the guy escapes on foot wearing the pendleton shirt!!! But leaves the car and I assume a mountain full of evidence!!! This is why The jelopy angle does make sense because how can not one tag be traced to a suspect? At least I didn't hear of one!!!  Then we had the janitor incident, another dog getting punched in the eye, Offerman's patients, Manning's patients. If I had a nickel for everytime this guy was seen and yet absolutely not one person got a decent look I would be blogging from The Caribbean!!

Yes there are sketches but any of them firsthand like "I saw him"!! A shooter chases down not 1 but 2 people on foot who one was a former MP and obviously in good shape!!! Then he found the time in complete darkness to chase down his wife as well!!!! Even Det. McGowen in Visalia got a good look at The Ransacker and he had an issue identifying who it was that shot at him. Even the guy who confronted him in the bedroom putting on the mask!!! Then you have the story of dogs going ballistic due to his scent. Maybe dogs can sense someone sent from Hell?

What I am saying is if this was a fictional piece it would make for a cheesy plot! Maybe he was the Son of The Invisible Man? Either he was the luckiest guy ever, shoddy police work, or all of the above? Maybe he had ten accomplices conspiring with him to track every movement the police made? In all seriousness lets just follow up every lead and cumbaya !!!! After 40 years what other alternative is there? I do believe we will find a resolution. Cannot put a timeline on it but DNA advances are getting quite remarkable out there!!!

Just one thing when I sound mocking I am targeting the plot and some of the investigative work. Not the victims or their families. I am sure they find nothing funny about this monster and I of course concur. I am just perplexed and maybe this is why he remains a ghost to this day!!!

Don't forget about the witness that said she saw the EAR early one morning walking toward his Chevy Vega. She stepped outside and he stopped and looked at her. She said they locked eyes for what seemed 5 minutes before he walked across street, got in his Vega and departed.

When questioned by police, she said he was wearing a jacket. The police asked her what color was the jacket? She didn't know.
