We do not know for a fact that "sonofstrutter" was who he said he was.  Trolls on here in the past have claimed all kinds of things that we later found out were not true.  And in general, it's important to be skeptical about almost everything related to this case, rather than blithely assume all information is true and correct.

Let's not confuse debating with bickering and fighting.  This message board, indeed every message board, is geared toward discussion.  Some of that discussion inevitably will result in respectful arguing.

This forum is not dedicated to solving this case.  A lot of posters fall into the trap you just did.  We have no, absolutely no, authority to solve anything.  We discuss, debate, propose ideas and theories, ask questions, and otherwise engage others in this unsolved series of crimes.  The only entity that can solve this case is law enforcement.  This message board exists only because of law enforcement's failure.

IF "sonofstrutter" was who he said he was, there are all kinds of reasons why he deleted his messages then left, that have nothing to do with poster response.

Ferguson, the single biggest problem with your message is your assumption that our message board is responsible for the case not being solved.  Your assumption is absolutely false.  Do not blame us for law enforcement's failure.

I didn't quit....it was my first time on the boards and I just got totally creeped out and needed a break.

My deleting everything was an emotional reaction.....fear. I know LE has checked these boards in the past......and for a reason.....don't know who's reading them.

That's a normal response, especially among victims and their families.

As a follow up to my post earlier, I communicated with SoS in private. He graciously answered my question and was very polite and forthcoming. He had no trouble verifying that he is the son of the Sand Bar Circle EAR victim. I ask that you be confident that he is who he says he is and welcome him to retell and continue his story.

You said your Special Forces uncle was completely convinced ear/ons had Spec. Ops. training. I question that. ear/ons wasn't stupid. He was fast and agile. And he definitely made the kind of triage decisions that Ops guys were trained to make.
He practiced patient reconnaissance.
He never engaged in a fair fight.
He cut his losses when he lost control of a crime scene.
All 3 of those are not normal behaviors for people in battle; they're trained in. But they're trained into normal people. ear began as a flawed individual who thought like a predator.

There are questions you can ask people to determine their awareness of sociopathy. For instance, imagine a setup where a sociopath meets a girl at a funeral whom he likes. He wants to see her again. So what does he do? He kills her sister- so he can meet her again at the next funeral. This is not a normal mindset. It's the mind of a person who has no naturally occurring boundaries associated with getting what he wants.

He needs to know his victim's schedules, so he practices patient reconnaissance.
He always tries to stack the odds in his own favor. Though he screwed this up occasionally.
When he lost control of a crime, he left. And he learned.

I don't think he was stupid. I think he was smart, focussed, and sometimes lucky. He shared many behaviors common to special ops. But those are the behaviors of a predator. I'm not certain he wasn't trained, but I think his mind was extremely different from a normal person's mind. I believe his brain-scan would reveal an extremely sick individual.

Can you list all the reasons that your uncle thought he was an Ops guy?

SOS ... did your uncle happen to indicate why he thought the EAR/ONS was in Special Forces?

Nothing he did screams spec ops to me. I ran track, played football and baseball and also ran cross country in HS and was very athletic yet I was not spec ops. One does not need spec ops training to do what the ear did, all you need is a sick mind and some agility to be able to climb a fence and shoot a gun if you are threatened and about to be caught. I think if he was spec ops trained we would know a lot less about him than we do now.

So, my uncle was on the Navy demolition teams (later to become SEALS) at the end of Korea and into VN.

He had a some very detailed conversations with LE during family interviews immediately following the event.

He past away a few years ago so I can't ask him again but I remember him talking about how the EAR seemed to approach his surveillance, how approached instilling fear in people and finally, there was something about how he moved (when he was fleeing,,,,,how specifically he hopped the fences (and a few other things that I couldn't hear) that lead him to believe it. The thing about the fences.....he didn't climb them, he hand vaulted them...with a speed and agility that was apparently VERY uncommon.

My uncle said that part of what he did when in the service was (and excuse my verbiage as I am not military so I don't know all of the correct terms) to go after enemy encampments or installations, capture, kill, cause maximum damage and distress and get back to safety. He said everything about whatever he and LE discussed felt like someone with that training.

Affirmation this poster is who they say they are, please.  I am not going to bother them/try to figure out which victim's son they are, consider it like Reddit when someone claims they are a lawyer giving information to someone on how to handle their court case.  When you make a claim, you get validated.

Sorry if I come off rude, but after reading the whole thread it kind of ticks me off to know all these posts could just be the website getting trolled.
