I've never heard of the Keddie murders but I'll look it up.
It was a quadruple murder in a cabin in Keddie. All victims were bound. It was in 1981
You know everyone has a theory here. I am not here to shoot down Q's work as I agree lets see where it leads. One thing for me stands out. Correct me if I am wrong but in the botched attack in Goleta did the victims note that ONS wasn't wearing a mask? It was dark according to the readings and it appeared he wasn't at least initially wearing one. In each instance there was evidence of bindings prior to physical harm to the victims. Every case except 1 that being his last victim Janelle Cruz. Based on what we know read ONS hit her from behind and dragged her probably unconscious to the bedroom. This is where he began his ritualistic methods of binding and sexual assualt.
Why hit her from behind? In the past he repeatedly told his victims "Don't look at my face" even though he had a mask on. It is my belief that ONS didn't wear a mask as ONS knowing there would be no surviving victims or so he thought. Only reason up north to wear the mask was knowing he would have a surviving victim. So he hits Janelle from behind and also in the face and forehead. I did some research where bludgeoning was the MO. In almost all of the cases where facial features were severely damaged (creek bones, teeth, forehead) meant that the attack was very personal upon apprehension of the killer. Striking Keith and Patty Harrington on their heads satisfied his sadist deranged mindset. But they were "objects" to him. In the Domingo/Sanchez homicides it wasn't personal until Greg put up a fight. Then this enraged him and drove him to the point of excess as we know. He beat all of the female victims beyond what was necessary. However Janelle's was different for reasons described above.
This case also bothered me because 5 years goes by and then all of sudden "boom" it happens again. Maybe he thought he was done or "cooling off" until became obsessed with her. Did he strike her in the back because she knew him all too well and didn't want her to see his depravity face to face? All of the rest were random targets and Janelle it is possible as well.
Again in all bludgeon attacks I noted with severe facial damage indicated very personal, intimate attacks. Even a few cases involved uncles and cousins or a past boyfriend. I am not sure about Janelle's family or if any had run ins with the law?
