I have come across this speculative comparison of the personality and psychological characteristics of the Zodiac but I think it fits EARONS well. I'm not sure who the author is. It is another argument against the notion that EARONS committed suicide imo. Here are a few excerpts from this article.
"The suspect is profoundly and emotionally disturbed and is a callous social deviant. He likely has some degree of a genetic/biological component of bipolar or schizophrenic illness; perhaps a schizoaffective type of imbalance influenced by both vulnerable brain chemistry and highly disturbed characterological factors."
"Because of early experiences of emotional misalignment with others, he has maintained a lifelong sensitivity or perceived rejection, especially from women. This likely incited intense feelings of anger and hatred, which defensively was displayed as superiority and disdain."
"He probably grew up as an only child with an absent or distant father and a detached, preoccupied mother who did little to care for his developmental emotional needs. It is likely that the suspect despises vulnerability and innocence in others because his own innocence was deeply violated/wounded in a callous manner."
"Perhaps a grandmother, or aunt was especially sadistically cruel to him. He may bave been a victim of humiliating sexual abuse, which caused deep shame, scarred his emerging sexuality, and further damaged his self image."
"He developed a strong defense against emotional vulnerability by creating an elaborate grandiose fantasy of himself as especially superior and in control."
"The manner in which he selects his victims -- carefully -- in a calculated fashion to enhance his feelings of potency and grandiosity. He interacts solely with people who are able to serve his needs. He feels extremely competitive with other men, and can easily become aggressive and bullying. He is compulsively driven to engage in behavior that brings him intoxicating or sadistic pleasure."
"He enjoyed the police and media attention as much as the sensations he received from killing his victims. He had a disturbing ability to see others as non-humans who were without separate meaningful lives. He was indifferent about how his actions caused grief to the families of his victims. He slept peacefully without conflict, remorse, or guilt."
"Unlike most humans, he does not experience upsetting memories or flashbacks of the brutality he inflicted. Suffering and fear may actually excite him. For example, should he observe a child being abused, he would lack the expected altruistic protective anger other empathetic people experience."
"In other words, he does not have the ability to respond with genuine emotional responses. Publicly, he can be composed, bright, and adaptive to his surroundings, while privately, he is depraved, heinous, and cruel, with a chilling capacity to shut off fear, and fear of consequences."
"He is a highly intelligent, well organized, methodical serial killer who is exhilarated by inciting terror and panic in innocent people."
