I agree with you Troubador. To allow your constituents to suffer such evil wouldn't be worth any amount of increase in my budget. How much would it play on my mind knowing I was allowing evil to pillage my constituents? But a Sheriff who drinks on the job? What thoughts was he attempting to drown? Even at that I agree that only one can keep a secret. I think we came very close to seeing some light with MM but as we know evil is very resourceful in suppressing the truth for a time. I'm sorry, I'm not one of those who believe things just happen for no reason at all. I understand that evil is necessary for good to prevail.
And if it's evil then how evil? Well I say evil is evil throughin and throughout and is very resourceful in muddying the water and blurring the truth and can do so using only one person. Evil wants to live too. The EAR is the result of a normal person who was placed in extraordinary circumstances. Much like his victims and their families. In that place where one must choose between good and evil. To suffer injustice. To retaliate and seek your own brand of justice or believe in a higher power respecting man's institutions of law, order and justice as we have been asked to do? The EAR had the chance to save himself but by seeking his own and believing he was his own master he lost himself. Not to say he couldn't have been later struck down and asked "EAR, why persecutest thou me?"
As you mentioned the EAR was not afraid to wander around in the dark made me think he could have used night vision goggles?
From victim's statements we know that EAR shared some things about himself and notice how they are unfortunate for him:
"People just laugh at me since something happened to my face."
"I was kicked out of the military."
I was wondering if perhaps those two statement he made about himself could be linked together speculating that he may have done something in the military that caused himself and others to suffer injury or death?
