Tom, please talk about the physical evidence that links them to the crime, not something that "could be" a match. and please offer something more than just they were creepy and weird and known as the bad guys around town. that is precisely the kind of argument which is scorned by fair-minded people, in the first place. and can we forget about talking about what the children said to the investigators. Miskelly told the investigators that Jason anally raped "the blonde boy"--which was not remotely true--thinking that's what they wanted. Miskelly would have said Satan himself took to human form to commit the murders, if he thought they wanted him to. IMHO that serrated knife found in the lake, probably bigger than an 8-year-old's forearm, was crafted to clean deer, elk or other big-game. The signature a knife like that would leave on an 8-year-old's body with it's multitude of serrated teeth each about a centimeter long, is unmistakable. the blade itself would entirely puncture through the chest cavity of an 8-year-old. lastly when investigators think they have the right perp, don't you think it is tempting for them to bend the rules just a little, to bolster their case? And do you see any of that here, ie; the jailhouse snitch, the coerced witness, the spoon fed confession, the mail-order occult phd? Believe me I am just as annoyed as you when smug celebrities get together powdered with makeup, and preach for a utopian society, but even broken clocks are right twice per day, no?
As for the anal rape that Misskelley spoke of. It was getting dark, it's also quite easy to mistake attempted or simulated rape for actual rape. I see no reason to discount Misskelleys confession just because he got a few things wrong when he did in fact get much right.
I also believe you are doing your opponents arguement a disservice by claiming we only find these 3 guys weird. One was a self admitted psychopath with murderous fantasies, the other two were easily lead. Add some drink & drug abuse and you have a recipe for potential murder.
