Check out the story in NY State where a guy did serious time for a murder and the DNA didn't match! Are you kidding me? How in hell do you get a conviction with that?

He was eventually released and exonerated. The real killer was eventually caught.

Its crazy aint it,there was a highly publicized death row case in the chicagoland area of Rolando Cruz,he spent 12 years on death row,for murdering and raping a 10 year old little girl,who had stayed home alone from school because she was sick.They didn't have 1 ounce of actual evidence against him,they made up a lie that he had told them specific information about the crime,that only the killer would know,which they totally made up.A little while later another little girl was abducted and raped and murdered,when they found the POS that committed that crime he admitted to also killing the 1st 10 year old girl,but of course they weren't about to admit that they were wrong.After about 12 years they had to let Cruz go,and about 15 people who worked for the state or county, went on trial for trying to frame him,of course they all got off.A Illinois Governor eventually  abolished the death penalty in the state,and everyone with a death sentence sitting on death row,was giving life sentences instead.Could you imagine spending 12 years on death row knowing you had nothing to do with the crime,all because some people from the state were trying to frame you,because they thought it could look bad and harm their careers,if they were to admit that they were prosecuting the wrong guy.Each one of those lying mfers should of had to sit on death row for 12 years,just to know what it felt like for Cruz to do it,but of course that didn't happen,they were allowed to continue on with their careers like nothing happened.

The detail and amount of research that went into this 7-parter was inspiring. Up until this release, Unsolved's 3-parter on EARONS was the podcast of choice to scratch the occassional EARONS itch. i've already listened to Casefiles at least 4 times and printed their 188 page magazine which in it of itself is an invaluable resource. Also like to mention that another show called 12-26-75 has recently released a 7-part series on the Visalia ransacker and possible ties to EARONS. Just started that one though.

Are you referring to "Bakersfield?" I believe he mentioned that town twice.

I don't remember Teno, but I remember he needed money to get back to Bakersfield. I can't imagine why that town popped out.

My question for you guys is during episode 53 part 3 of the Ear podcast, it mentions at in the Summer of 1977 someone claiming to know the Earons typed a letter to L.E. and signed it as "SCARED". Also the podcast says that L.E. was positive this was for real. It was either the UNSUB or someone with distinct knowledge of his identity. They also said L.E. posted a reply via the Sacramento Bee on the Same day Elvis Presley died. If any of you guys know anything about this or know of anymore source material about this letter I'd sure appreciate any info. The letter received by L.E. was Typed also and signed by "SCARED" it was also stated that no more attacks were ever committed in this area after the letter. Thanks in advance!!!

The "Afraid" letter... I think you got the gist of it. I believe the Sacramento Bee's report on it is in the PDF, but I don't think investigators culled much from it.

Id say Casefile is one of the big reasons why interest in the case surged as it did. Id say its the definitive account in a alot of ways. They went through every attack, gave background, had interviews and gave facts. For me that podcast is why I got deeply interested in this case. I know im not the only one
