I think of my fellow posters here like colleagues and friendly associates. We can have our spirited debates and walk away with no hard feelings. The next time the topic comes up, we can simply renew the old argument... or throw up our hands in despair while murmuring something about Groundhog Day.
The thing about genetic facial reconstruction comes up a lot. Now thanks to [screen name redacted], we have the opinion of a known authority on the case, Paul Holes. From the recent YouTube interview -- link is at the bottom of the quote:
There you go. Holes doesn't sound too enthusiastic about the quality and richness of detail provided. Clearly, though, this has indeed been done. He hints at it in an obvious way: "(W)e... have taken advantage of all available technologies."
With a little extrapolation, we can assume that the three composites presented by the FBI are consistent with the genetic results. It would defy all logic if it were otherwise. Unless you suspect a conspiracy, which I do not.
And some people on "the existing task force" want to keep some of the information form the public. Shocking. Like LE never does anything like that.

Interviewer
Can you reveal anything, Paul, that hasn't been revealed before regarding the DNA in this case? There has been so much speculation that you, through the DNA, can tell the offender ancestry and eye color. Is that true, and if so, can you tell us what it is?
Paul Holes:
(Laughter) You're talking about doing the phenotyping. And it is true that there's technologies that are now available to law enforcement that give us (pause) some indication as to certain characteristics about the offender -- his hair color, his eye color, his ancestry. Absolutely. And that technology is out there, and I can't really comment in terms of anything specific about what we know related to phenotyping and the East Area Rapist. That is something that is kind-of a sensitive topic within the existing task force, and all I can tell the public is that we are most certainly exploring and have taken advantage of all available technologies that we can.
EAR-GSK Paul Holes Interview, Time span of 30:15-31:26.
