Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had a scary experience with another person? I figure I'd share one of my own personal -- and terrifying -- story.
Back when I was a kid in the 90's, our neighbor who was a single father with two children my age, were practically our best friends. Well, one day in the summer, my mother and father decided to take me and my brother to the park. They also invited the neighbor and his children, which he said yes. While at the park, as kids do, we scheming plans for my neighbor's children to spend the night at our home. Both family said that was okay. Afterward, once we were all home, the kids said they would be over in about ten minutes because they were going to brush their teeth and bring over the SNES.
My mother told them they didn't have to knock on the door; and just come on in. As we were waiting for them to come over, my father had left to meet up with a friend for coffee. Meanwhile, my mother, me, and my brother were all sitting in the living room watching a magic show on television. Approximately ten minutes later we heard a knock on the front door, despite telling the children to walk on inside. My mother then said loudly, "Come in." Nobody did and the knocking continued even further. Once again, my mother said more loudly, "Come in!" but once more, nobody did. Seconds later, more knocking occurred. My mother was frustrated and decided to go to the front door to let the children inside and I tagged along.
When my mom opened the door, there was a man with a ski mask, army apparel (camo jacket and pants), and a gun pointed straight to my mother. He also had a knife that was holstered, along with rope similar to what you will see on hay bales in his back pocket. My mom screamed and the stranger panicked and quickly fled from the home. He jumped over our front porch railing and our chain-link fence and quickly ran into the woods. While I can only speculate, a part of me thinks he panicked because he saw a child (me).
Anyway, the children never came over that night. Afterward the incident, for some strange reason, the children and their father practically had nothing to do with us. They didn't speak to us, give a friendly neighbor wave, and so forth. Three months later they moved and we've never seen or heard from again. I often wonder what happened to them.
I'd like to state the obvious: Was the father the person that knocked on our door and had a gun pointed at my mother? Nobody can say for certain, unfortunately. Additionally, I have thought about what this stranger would have done if my mother was all alone by herself. It's really chilling to think back on this incident and how quickly our lives could have changed dramatically.
It was a weird experience. This guy clearly had the planning to do something horrible by bringing a gun, knife and rope. It's entirely possible he chose the wrong house (if it was a personal vendetta). Another possibility would be drugs. The neighborhood I lived in, many people we're dealing drugs. It wasn't the safest place to be. That said, the neighborhood wasn't entirely all that bad.
Anyway, that's just one personal incident that happened to me. Have any of you had strange/creepy experiences?
