Is this really what all your posts and your opinions boil down to?
There are so many similarities between the two cases, aside from the bludgeoning. From the idea that the police work was subpar. To the fact that both cases had a framing element or a scapegoat. Or to the fact that both were part of possible national level intrigue and scandal. Lyman was said to have been skimming off a CIA cutout between Iran and the US. And Vicki was said to be in possession of video tapes showing WH staff and business contacts engaged in illicit activities. In both instances, their deaths proved to be timely for the WH. I dont know why smitmit would think Reagan would be a possible suspect, but it did prove beneficial to his admin.
I also dont think Wean was trying to capitalize on Lyman's murder. Nor were any other proponents of the theory that the two murders were connected. I think they were all trying to uncover the truth. It seems a bit strange to think that Wean might have had more in common with JJD than he might have thought. I only say that in regards to his career. Wean had a good deal of experience with LA politics, law enforcement, and private investigation.
What was JJD doing in LA during those years after his termination from Auburn, and before working in the warehouse distribution?
Both cases were extremely high profile. It really doesnt seem outrageous, or beyond the logical realm, for people to surmise some connectivity. And with JJD's history it seems worth looking into. Unfortunately LE destroyed the DNA evidence within days of the Vicki Morgan murder. There are two ways LE can follow up on it, if they were so inclined. But I doubt they will. My guess is LE is trying to put JJD in the smallest box, the tightest wrapping, and with the biggest bow, and hope he dies very very soon.
