There are sites dedicated to what it was like in Sacramento in the 70's. Most are closed sites. Some have 15,000 members some 8,000. A person had to have been there in those years and you have to answer a couple of questions to join. The reason I mention this is because the members talk to each other and find brothers, sisters, friends and it seems to be like a chain. There are several sites that exists about Sacramento from the 1970's. One of the questions asked frequently for example on this one site is Who remembers cruising on J Street or who remembers sneaking into the drive in movies in the trunk of a car at the Thunderbird? Who remembers whatever they come up with. Mostly fun stuff.
Sometimes the subject matter turns a bit more serious. Tonight not only are they talking about murders that happened in Sacramento in the 70's they are discussing the East Area Rapist. The question was who remembers the East Area Rapist and wonder whatever happened to him? The article in the Sacramento Bee recently helped get the word out. Shows that are seen especially on ID channel are teaching the people in Sacramento that EAR was never stopped and never caught. They know he was also the Original Night Stalker. They remember him vividly. It is the first time I have seen this at last. For the last two hours with over 50 people conversing they have posted information among themselves telling what they know, directing others to websites, Wikipedia and elsewhere. I just wanted to share that - on just this one site over 15,000 people saw these posts tonight. This is just one Sacramento site.
Thanks for listening. This is good.
This is exactly the type of page I have argued should be targetted. Tbh I think it's a job for LE. At a small financial cost a targetted fb ad could have far better results than billboards or increasing the reward. A few basic facts about our perp in such an ad is what's needed. Too much info or conjecture would confuse those who see the ad.
