The poster "hastings" brought this up on another thread. It's a good idea. Netflix is the King of Documentaries. They will do documentaries till the cows come home--some good, some bad---but they are not afraid to take on controversial topics. "The Keepers" was an excellent multi-part series with striking similarities to the EAR case. It was about the unsolved murder of a nun and the associated multiple child rapes by a priest. Netflix talked to all the key figures who are still alive: (1) the amateur sleuths who knew the murdered nun and have been trying for years to solve the case; (2) people who knew the nun, including her priest/lover; (3) the coroner who did the autopsy; (4) some LE; (5) the state's attorney who possibly helped cover up the mess; (6) incredibly, one of the suspects; (7) some of the rape victims. And many more.
Was everything everybody said on this series true? Probably not, but that was the interesting part for the viewer---to try to figure out who was telling the truth and who was lying.
The point is, if Netflix would tackle that mess, which included the all-powerful Catholic Church in the state of Maryland, why would they shy away from tackling the EAR?
If the same crew that did "The Keepers" could be persuaded to do "The EAR", another great documentary series would result.
I don't know whether Netflix does their own docs or maybe independent people do them and sell them to Netflix. I'm not in the movie business. I just know Netflix has a huge amount of documentaries----and the EARONS case is begging for a great documentary to be made.
