What I have reported is not speculation. The info has been known for some time by others, and is connected with a specific poi.
1) do you mean connected with a specific Person that was never investigated, or Person of Interest that has been investigated and cleared?
2) When you refer to this POI, are you referring to Mr. Y, or the 3rd party "friend of Mr. Y" (not being Mr. X) that is known?
You quote the word "investigation" -- understanding that text doesn't convey meaning or intent well...
3) Is that sarcasm (e.g. the "investigation" was carried out by law enforcement, but not to public expectations)
4) or are you implying this was not a formal investigation carried out by public servants, but rather some sort of "investigation" carried out by private citizens and/or non-LE?
Sorry, I'm having to ask specific questions at this point. What's being implied here needs more clarification and follow up.
Will try to answer your 4-point question first; then the set of questions in the above quoted section.
1) & 2) "the 3-toed dog is not at all linked to Glasby ... Glasby was initially linked and questioned ..."
Would say that Glasby is irrelevant insofar as any and all dog connections are concerned; he may or may not be irrelevant insofar as other issues are concerned.
2b) "... there are no known links to the surfer community ..."
At the present time I am not aware of any links to surfer community; that doesn't mean though that surfer link couldn't crop up later on.
3) "paw prints of the same 3-toed dog were discovered at multiple crime scenes ..."
No. Most emphatically, no. I recall reading somewhere that there is evidence of a 3-toed dog at the O/M site. I have seen nothing that persuades me that any 3-toed creature was at the D/S site. Again, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It's just that if there was a 3-toed dog at the D/S site, I am not aware of it. I have never put much confidence in this 3-toed characteristic, nor even the type of dog it was (at any attack site), though most assume that it was a German Shepard. What's important is that there was a dog, probably a rather large dog, at the O/M site. There was also a dog, again probably a large dog, at the D/S site. Calling the animal a "large dog" is about as specific as I'm prepared to go.
4) "injured dog from the thank-you rose event was not the 3-toed dog..."
Again, don't know about the "3-toed" characteristic. But my understanding is that that particular dog is not the dog that the ONS brought with him. Indeed, I seem to recall that this dog's owner later reported to LE, and the owner was cleared; thus, again based on my understanding, this particular dog is irrelevant to the case unless it can somehow be shown that the ONS stabbed it.
To summarize: the only two dogs that are relevant here are: (1) the dog at the O/M attack site, and (2) the dog at the D/S attack site. These two incidents may, or may not, have involved the same dog. If it's not the same dog, the dog issue is still relevant to this case, and most assuredly not a dead end.

Re: POI:
I am talking about a particular person. The extent of LE's investigation into this person is factually unknown. When you ask people about it, you will get all kinds of answers. Those answers run the gamut from "examined extensively and cleared" to "not examined to any significant extent". Some posters have unlimited faith in LE; other posters don't. As a result, it's up to the poster to form his or her own conclusions about the extent to which this person was investigated. My own opinion, and I clearly wish to state that it is an opinion is that this particular poi was superficially examined by some jurisdictions; for other jurisdictions I'd rather not say.
"When you refer to the POI, are you referring to Mr. Y, or the 3rd party 'friend of Mr. Y' (not being Mr. X) that is known?"
POI ... identity known
Mr. X ... identity known
Mr. Y ... identity known by others (but not me, though I think I can make good guess)
When I use the word investigation, almost always I mean the official LE investigation done during the time period the crime was committed. If I wish to be sarcastic, I will put quotes on either side of the word; hence, "investigation". If I am referring to work done by posters here or others in an unofficial capacity, I will use some other word.
Hope these responses adds some clarity.
