I’m excited to see so much attention given to this case recently, and am learning a lot of new information that has led me to reconsider some beliefs I had previously. One was that EAR was an implant to the area, and grew up elsewhere since there was no information about crimes in the area you should see with an early offender who is developing his psychopathy. I’m actually surprised that the fact that there WERE patterns of prowling/voyerism, break and entering, robbery, animal cruelty/killing, etc. before the rapes began! WTH? Why are we just learning about this?
The good news is that since they have established someone operating in that area with these crimes—and who else could it be other than EAR—it should help identify the perp. SOMEONE from that area knows who he is. He’s the guy who the neighborhood knew was a troublemaker and a bully, or acted strangely and was seen out at odd hours. And unless he was a military brat who recently moved to the area, he went to school in that area and his name is registered so LE just has to look at a few years of names to narrow down the list of possibilities. If he somehow didn’t get arrested for lesser charges, he definitely was known by the school supervisors as being troubled severely. I sure hope that LE has questioned past teachers if they suspected anyone who might fit the description. This to me gives me great hope since you aren’t looking for a needle in a haystack!
I still think he likely had some military background due to his extreme physical dexterity and skills. My best friend married a SAS guy who recently retired, and I know that they go through extreme physical training and truly are elites. They also go through a lot of trials that are lengthy and excruciating, and you can get kicked out at the very end after trying so hard. I’m wondering if maybe this guy tried out, which is why he was so skilled at moving stealthily and taking evasive measures—things military elites are trained to do—but failed and he couldn’t handle the failure/rejection. I’m also now I’m thinking he might have had a father who was military as well, and he resented him big time, and since many of his victims were in the military, they might have been selected for revenge. He did say he saw one victim on base I recall. He might have tried to join, or been kicked out and held a grudge against them. He might have hung around a lot on base and many people could recognize him which is why he took such great care to avoid his face being seen, to the point of killing anyone who saw him.
New to the area and father was in the Military. That's my guess. Also the back story of my POI who lives a quarter mile from Dawes and Dolcetto after he moved to the area in 74 when father came to Mather AFB. They lived on base and then moved to suburban Rancho. Lived abroad before that...
