Something I've noticed in the same time period is what seems like a collective shift in wanting accountability, especially for crimes against women. Harvey Weinstein, Larry Nassar, and the #metoo movement are a few examples of what I see as a much bigger movement and shift. Those guys also got away with what they did for so long. Seems like people are just tired of it and wanting to see these guys held accountable. I'm so glad Michelle and others pushed for the attention. Law enforcement hasn't given her credit, which I think is wrong. It's true her book did not "solve" the crime. So, yes; Michelle and those handful of people before her, kept the flame going in the public. It amounted to nothing but a weak spark, compared to the way its blown up, now, for sure.
