I'll get started. While a lot of these things haven't 100% been proven yet, the evidence now looks like:
1. The "homework" papers probably had absolutely nothing to do with him. At best, they were a red herring.
2. Hole's whole construction theory fit together real nicely, but was way off.
3. The geographical profiles completely missed the mark.
4. The guy at the hospital wasn't him; just some other shady dude.
5. His residence stayed in Sacramento, and never moved south. His brother ties him to Orange County.
6. "Bonnie" was, in fact, real. So, not every strange thing he did was a red herring.
7. The crying was probably also real.
8. He was indeed a cop.
9. The badge wasn't from his employment.
10. Prowling wasn't his "full time job." The extent of his pre-attack prowling may, in fact, be greatly over-stated.
11. He was good enough with women to actually hold long-term relationships before, during, and after the attacks.
Feel free to add. Again, not saying any of this stuff has been 100% established. Just saying based on what we know based off of who was identified, and early reports, that this stuff is probably more likely than not the case.I've always felt this his crying was real. The FBI profiler indicated that it didn't fit the profile of this type of predator, but he could be bipolar and there are always exceptions to rules.
I've always suspected that he was a cop, simply because he evaded police for so long.
I was convinced the crying wasn’t real and that he was doing it to torment his victims further by seeming “crazy”. I still can’t comprehend what would make him call out his ex’s name and cry, yet go to such lengths to shield his identity. Yes, rampant mental illness, but he was apparently quite high functioning despite it...honestly, we may never know the truth in its entirety unless he explains these little things, which I’m unsure he will.
