4. Haha, you think having a number one best selling book did not bring additional attention to the case?? Haha, wow. Your hatred is something else. You think HLNs ratings meant anything? All attention is great but your complete lack of media awareness and the value of a new york times best seller is a little stunning.
5. Not true at all. She did not start with researchers and one of them was met far into her investigation. Simply not true in the slightest. She did MASSIVE amounts of work that was more productive than anything Quester did.
6. That is so weird that they all openly admit that she greatly facilitated all the work and brought them together in a way that was incredibly helpful and did not exist prior. I guess you know better than they themselves know?
7. No they really weren't. They didn't know what to do with it and she largely started the genealogical mapping and working with genealogists to create the family trees when LE was looking at train engineers, land developers who owned planes and begging someone to recognize some map or page of home work while focusing in on people far too young.
8. So you think I am wrong and she WAS closer than everyone else? Or are you contending that Paul Holes who flat out definitively saif the VR and GSk were not related and was spending years looking into land developers with a plane was pretty close?
Your utter hate needs to take a back seat. Man you act like she has taken something from you personally and there are clearly some deep issues here that I can't imagine having over someone you never met and never interacted with. I hope you get some help to work through whatever hurt you so badly.
I find the MM dislike (to say the least) perplexing. This case had little to no attention 10 yrs ago and I LIVE in so cal. My professor, who works for an OC LE office didn't know about the case and he's in LAW ENFORCEMENT . I literally had never heard of the murdersand I'm into true crime. It wasn't until the LA magazine article. Michelle didn't solve the case. Genealogy did. However, her connection to celebrity and resources certainly helped. Attention and publicity equals funding. It's as simple as that folks.
Will LE ever come out and say" hey btw this writer wrote about our guy and after she did that and died a whole bunch of people started to care a little more so we put more resources on the case"?? Come on. No. You can argue until you're blue in the face.
I also can't blame her husband for having the reaction he did when they caught gsk. He loved her and was there when she died. His reaction was part grief part elation. He clearly wants to remember her in some way. He wants to keep her memory alive for her family and their daughter.
I've listened to a couple of podcasts where they interview MM and she clearly did not think she was better than those of you who are now shitting all over her. She was intimidated by these boards. She thought all of you were smart. She ended one of her chapters by saying she thought one of you could potentially solve the case.
It's interesting, the more negative comments I read about MM on line the more I'm interested in who she was as a person. I'll happily watch the HBO documentary.
