Been a bit more difficult today to watch J.J.D.'s court appearance due to the early start time.
Confession to the cops? I'm not convinced he will. The primary emotion on his face this morning was fear; however, there are two notes that must needs be affixed:
1 - How J.J.D. just tried to stare down Judge Sweet thinking that those bugged-out blue eyes would somehow "intimidate" the judge. Never mind the totality of the situation--J.J.D. still wanted a piece of the judge.
2 - The other emotion that showed on his face: complete and total embarrassment. It appears to me that finally, for the first time since his arraignment in Sacramento last month, that the severity of this is only now hitting him over the head--like a firelog or a diachondra lawn plugger: all his deeds are going to be out in the open. Only reason he cares? His three daughters are going to find out what he REALLY IS--in this respect, they too are victims of J.J.D.
This guy only understands physical force and intimidation--as evidenced by how he glared at Judge Sweet. That aside, there's one practical play here--use the daughters to get him to talk. If he cares about anything or anyone--and I still harbor doubts that this even applies to his own blood--he'll talk to save those women from having to pay the tab for his (myriad) sins. They should not be punished for his physical and emotional depredations.

Hopefully, JJD does care enough about his daughters to spare them any more emotional pain. I hope he pleads guilty and tells the Investigators everything. His daughters must be in shock at what they've learned about their father this past month. The first two who were born in 1981 and 1986, must feel a tremendous emotional jarring since their dad actually committed murders as they were about to be born. I can't even imagine the horrendous emotional toll that alone is taking upon them. How horrific for them to learn about the darkness and evil that their father doled out on innocent people.
May this evil man find something good inside his soul, and may his spare his daughters the horror that a trial will bring upon them.
Hopefully no one calls me out on the cite (I'm too tired to find it, LOL!), but I remember seeing a Holes quote early after the arrest that he had refused to see family...
