Hello - Did anyone ever notice that he (not with attack #1 or 10-21-75, but with attack #2) began the EAR series with a few bludgeoning/blunt force attacks, and then mostly used guns, knives, and flashlights to subdue his victims for a long time afterward...then ended the EAR series; and then the ONS series ended with more bludgeoning attacks?
Prior to attack #1, on 6-17-76, EAR attacked a man in the man's garage with a "flat bat," thought to be the same club used in attack #3 (see below).

In attack #2, EAR punched and hit his victims with his fists.

In attack #3, he used what appears to be some kind of club, like the kind police are known to use - possibly the same one used in the 6-17-76 attack on the man in his garage.

In attack #4, he punched his victim in the face to subdue her. The punch broke the victim's nose and knocked her out, leaving a blood stain on the concrete where she fell. He attacked her first outside and then raped her inside her parents' house.

Then there is a long series of attacks which are not characterized by any punching, hitting, bludgeoning. EAR only attacks his victims this way in attacks #13 and #33 - both of which attacks he only hits his victims while struggling with them.
Then, with attack #41, he punches his victim on the side of her head before he rapes her.

And again, in attack #43, he hits his victim with some unknown object that he holds in his fist.

And then, obviously, during the ONS series, he seems to prefer bludgeoning as a method of attack. After the 12/30/79 attack on Offerman and Manning, EAR murders all of his remaining victims via bludgeoning.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Do you think there's any significance to this switch back and forth?
