I spoke to Dale just recently because he was a guest of the County for the past few months (jail) and he refused my visit requests. He is out and clear as he put it and I asked him about the handgun incident. The credibility might be lacking in his moral character but I had a feeling the incident did occur but I could also be wrong. Dale stated he was fighting with his "old lady" in a physical way when he was told by the Officer banging at his front door that the fighting was heard as he drove by the residence. I found this part interesting since if it is true the Officer was driving by and heard the fight as opposed to being dispatched to the call since there would not be a record of it unless the Officer notified his dispatch. The Officer according to Dale was DeAngelo but he did admit he only put that part together when the EAR case broke before that he claims he forgot the name but was sure when he saw the picture on TV. That part of his interview bothered me for obvious reasons. He claims the cop took the side of his "old lady" and began lecturing him on how to treat a woman (ironic if it was DeAngelo) when she told him he had a firearm in the bedroom (Dale was a convicted felon and could not possess a firearm) where it was located by the Officer. Dale believed he was heading directly back to prison when this occurred but instead the Officer continued to lecture him on caring for a woman and a family in fact to use his exact words. Dale saw the officer with the firearm tucked into his waist just below his belt but the officer did not mention locating the firearm. After a few minutes of the Officer telling Dale to respect his family and wife, he left the residence without Dale in handcuffs. He was amazed and at that time grateful for not being arrested. Dale expected the PD to return and arrest him but it never happened.
