I have a couple questions: one would be why wasn't the zodiac wearing gloves? Another would be how accurate is the movie in relation to Robert Graysmith's book? In the movie, the Stine witnesses say that the perpetrator was stocky with a crew cut and that they could see him wiping the cab i.e. eliminating prints.
One thing the movie pointed out which cannot be denied is that after going into the front seat to cut away a piece of the shirt, he would have had blood on his hands.
1) Zodiac likely wore gloves at one crime scene(a stabbing at Lake Berressa). In the Stine killing, there were gloves found in the back seat, but these turned out to belong to a previous passenger that night. When Z mailed letters, he was careful not to leave prints, and there are only parts of prints or latents. One thing Z was not aware of, was palm prints. He left at least one palm print on a letter.
2)The movie is fairly accurate and close to Graysmith's book, however, Graysmith made some errors in his book(some have said he deliberately made these errors)and the book largely focuses on his pet suspect, Arthur Leigh Allen
3)The witnesses did see Zodiac in the front seat doing something(cutting off a piece of the Cab Driver's,Paul Stine's shirt)he then walked around the cab and cleaned where he may have left prints, however, he was covered in Stine's blood from the gunshot, and when he leaned over into the cab, he apparently supported himself on the door post, thus leaving the bloody print
4)The infamous Zodiac sketch was based on these witnesses statements. He was described as heavy, stocky, glasses, crewcut, etc. He was described as being "barrel chested". Napa Sheriff's dept, based on Zodiac's tracks at the crime scene, estimated Zodiac was well over 200lbs
5)The owner of the gloves was located. The Bloody print has been used to rule out 2000+ suspects, and police believe it is Zodiac's. Police got to the scene only seconds after Z walked off,and secured the scene to preserve evidence. It's very likely that print is his
