When I get time I'll post a separate diagram showing what I'm proposing as Keith and Sandra's journey from the party towards Sandra's home.  In that case I think they continued (for whatever reason) past Grafton, remaining on Route 17 until it intersected with the CHP (below the boxed '17').  In this scenario the only overlap in the two separate journeys is on the CP.

2 - Location of Cathy's car.

A - Overlook where Keith's car was found (and also the beach below the overlook where the dogs tracked Keith's scent to, and then out into the River).
B - Indian Field Creek where the dogs tracked Sandra's scent to the water's edge.  

 So here shows that while Cathy & Becky were not ON I7, from what little we know, it DOES show that they MAY have travelled close enough to it that the POI travelling I7 may have crossed paths with them .... all speculation of course...  this is assuming they did go to the Yorktown Pub.     So, perhaps the I7 connection does still exist in Cathy & Becky's case. 

I am trying to go by what is certain.  in which case, it is a fact that Cath and and Becky were last seen alive at Becky's dorm, and Keith and Sandra were last seen alive leaving a party at University Square Apartments.  Cathy had hamburger meat and lettuce in her  stomach. Where she got it is unknown. The Yorktown Pub is a speculation,.  They could have gotten it from a fastfood restaraunt. Then there is an unsubstantiated sighting of Keith and Sandra at a 7-Eleven in Tabb. Otherwise, their last known place to be seen alive was the party.

In any case, 17 is by all the crime areas. It is still significant.

To be more accurate, the Yorktown Pub is on the other side of the bridge from where you show on your map, so even thou Cathy/Becky didn't have to travel Route 17 to get there, they still had to go under it and thus placing themselves in close proximity to it, so we could say that Possibly Route 17 plays a role in their disappearance?

There is a map, on the liberty security thread I think, which is very good. It’s amazing how often Route 17 pops up in the crimes, including those of Laurie Powell and Brian Pettinger too. I know we talk of “The Colonial Parkway Murders” but Route 17 is prevalent too. It would be interesting to know how many of the suspects lived or worked on Route 17.
