Almagata, Good thinking. Fire starting, counseling office, map studies, the year is very interesting and the high school's location of Orangevale is very interesting too. Relentless: good point about the wooden matches too.
Of course I always have to think of both sides of the coin. I have a question: Does anyone know about these studies of serial killers frequently having a fire setting background, if this fire setting was confined to when they were youths? any age studies? very young? still setting fires in high school? continuing setting fires as adults? These serial killers that set fires as youths did they set fires in conjunction with their murders? That would be interesting to know because if they continued to set fires then we haven't seen that (as far as we know) with GSK, but if it was typically something they only did when youths that would be really interesting. Anyway that is a question.
I find these articles about arson in the early 1970s to be very noteworthy, given they are in the Sacramento area, and there just aren’t that many kids in elementary school who would be displaying EAR behavior. So, investigators could interview teachers and counselors in those schools at that time and believe me, they will remember the names of kids like EAR!
