Maybe to get Trabuco's attention?  To distract Trabuco?  To get Trabuco to start looking at manintheboat instead of what trabuco was looking at?  Who knows?

The entire year of 2017 manintheboat only posted once, in January 2017.

January 2018 manintheboat became active again on the board.  Most of his activities were focused on Trabuco.  Manintheboat's last activity was June 7, 2019, where he Liked Trabuco's comment in the thread Is JJD Trickofthetail???   Then, no more activity.

Notice how perfect the hints/clues are that point to manintheboat being JJD?  The list of why the EAR stopped was right on target.  The profile picture is a jar of peanut butter.  I suspect manintheboat went back to his old comment about why the EAR stopped and edited it - and created that list.  Despite how old a comment is and when it was posted, a user can go back, from their profile page and under "recent posts" or "activity" and EDIT the comment.  After it is edited and saved, it stays in its original spot.  It does not bounce to the top of Recent Posts or Activity the way brand new posts do.  I tried doing it, that's how I know.

Is manintheboat a troll?  Or, did manintheboat want to distract Trabuco and move his attention away from the Colonial Parkway board?  Because that is what Trabuco was working on when manintheboat suddenly resurfaced and began following Trabuco.

Why?

Interesting thoughts, Cleo. Like you said, the posts from manintheboat pre-arrest seem to indicate some intimate knowledge of the crimes and/or perpetrator. In light of the editing capabilities that you noted, it’s even more curious as to the identity of manintheboat and the who and what they know about EARONS.

Unmasking a Killer episode 7 @ the 36:36 Paul Holes states there are several peanut butter jars around his computer. I did notice right before that they show him going in to the courtroom and he has a smile on his face, seemed like he was interacting with the deputy.

11/29 there was a cell search, the inmate had 4, FOUR!, cell phones and a quart size Ziploc with marijuana hidden in wheelchair and hospital bed.

Manintheboat's Sep. 2016 comment  WAS NOT edited. 

The poster may not have edited an old comment turning it into a  list of who the EAR was. 

As already mentioned, when a comment is edited no matter how old it is, when it's saved it does not bounce to the top of the members RECENT POSTS list.  It stays in its original spot. 

However, when a comment is edited, a notation in italic fonts indicating the date of the edit automatically appears in the bottom right corner of the comnent's box, saying, 

"last edited [DATE OF EDIT]". 

I edited one of my old comments the other day.  When I looked at it now, at the bottom right of the box it says, 

"last edit: Dec 3, 2019 at 2:45am by Cleopatra". 

The notation cannot be edited or deleted by the user.  

Manintheboat's posts are very similar to those by KetchN and TOT.  Same kind of sarcasm.  Same  making  fun of poster's comments.   Phrases manintheboat used were also used by KetchN and TOT.  Also, same use of smileys.

Manintheboat could be JJD, or, it could be his accomplice.

Ok. I've spoken to a few sherrifs who work at the jail and the ear is under 24/7 vid surveilance so I doubt he would be pulling that off. He's an old fart with few friends not some gang banger who's coddled like they are at most prisons.

Correct you probably are tman2004, however the integrity of guards are often compromised by a variety of temptations .

Last year 46 corrections officers in Georgia were arrested by the FBI on corruption charges for allegedly smuggling cellphones to inmates.

My husband used to work in a California State Prison.  He told me that there were always prisoners in possession of cell phones that would get confiscated.  Cell phones are a hot item in prisons.

......and on another site......I received a reply to a question I asked of Mr. Quasar a couple of days ago about whether or not if he knew now that JJD had ever visited his site in the past and this is part of the response I received from him:

"It will come out at the trial to what extent he followed the investigation, but yes he did visit my site and I had tagged his IP out of Citrus Heights for certain reasons. I don’t know what his ID was on the boards, if any, but he probably followed."

Trabuco was right  - that TOT had many Avatars.
