I was just looking at a map and noticed that the distance between where Sheryl Warner’s house was and where Alicia’s car was found on Route 29 South is only 50 yards.
I’ve attached a link to an article from The Hook about Sheryl’s murder.

I looked it up on Google Maps and it looks like it's about 20 minutes drive time from her house to the approximate area where Alicia was found in Lignum. Of note there are several wooded areas between Ms. Warner's house and the Lignum location. Makes you wonder why that specific area was chosen? Maybe the killer was from Lignum/nearby or worked in that area or nearby and thus felt comfortable there?
Also, Alicia's disappearance was in the late morning hours, correct? Shouldn't someone have seen/heard something amiss? Though perhaps the R29S didn't actually physically attack her until they were in the Lignum area?
Did you see how close the house is to where the vehicle was found? That really surprised me to see how close they were.
I think the perpetrator was probably extremely charming and lulled his victims into a false sense of security for quite a while even after they got inside his vehicle. Alicia was stopped between 10-11am and witnesses from nearby houses said it looked like she was being helped. There was a pair of black gloves and cigarette butts by the vehicle which suggest they were stopped at the vehicle a while. If they belonged to the killer he must have been a heavy smoker. It breaks my heart to think that someone was so cunning to do all this in plain sight, you wouldn’t think twice if you saw a man looking under the hood of a car in broad daylight by the side of the road, most would think it was a Good Samaritan.
Her credit card was found on Clay Street in Culpeper, she may have thrown it out the window herself as she knew something was up by that point and was trying to leave a trail.
Looking at a map of the stops they seem to be concentrated either side of Culpeper. I think Route 3 could be significant, he used Route 3 to travel up to Culpeper and then on to Rt 29. Lignum is off Route 3. Maybe he came from the Fredericksburg area.
I’ll need to go back and look at all the locations better but I also remember noticing that some of the 1996/97 victims had been left not that far away from large nurseries, Dominion Growers was one of them.
There was also an assisted living home close to where Alicia was found while Ann McDaniel lived in an assisted living home.
