Did DeAngelo kill Eva Taylor in Goleta, April 18, 1974, Jennifer Armour in Visalia November 1974, Donna Jo Richmond Visalia 12/26/75? Were there others before Offerman/Manning December 1979? Does a person go from zero to a hundred? From no murders to a double murder, and a very high risk murder, in a condo, not in some remote location where there would be no witnesses, nobody to hear anything. A condo!
I've often wondered if some cases were not connected because there was no known M.O., such as breaking into a home, tying up the victim, ultimately attacking couples, the use of dishes as a warning system or on the back of the male, things he said, eating in the home etc. Could there be cases that have not been connected because he kidnapped victims? Jennifer Armour and Donna Jo Richmond were abducted. We know as the East Area Rapist he did remove victims to the back yards of neighbors and in attack #9, he took the victim down the drainage canal a good distance from her home.
Here are a few other cases that stand out to me:
8/18/77 Linda Sue Kuykendall and Christine Riley were thought to have been kidnapped while possibly hitchhiking or on way to a bus, between Rancho Cordova and Carmichael. On 12-04-77 their skeletonized remains were found. Because of the state of their remains there was no evidence of rape. The girls were found in a secluded ravine 1 mile north of Latrobe. They had been BLUDGEONED with a rock. We know DeAngelo was capable of controlling 2 victims. I would imagine he had a gun to threaten. Or....did he use his uniform and cop car to order them into the back of the patrol car? Did he handcuff them? Did he tie them up? Nothing was left behind so we can't know if they were tied up or handcuffed. DeAngelo used weapons he found in the home, logs, wrench etc. dichondra plug (lawn tool). They were bludgeoned to death. A bloody rock found by them and they had severe head injury.
Linda Sue Kuykendall of Carmichael, age 15 , 5’5” 120 lb. brown hair, and Christine Riley of Rancho Cordova, age 16, 106 lbs. blonde /blue eyes. The girls had been staying at Riley’s residence at 10411 Ambassador Drive. (DeAngelo’s sister lived 3 blocks from Christine on Ambassador in the early 70’s and 3 blocks further was an EAR attack, March 29, 1978, on Ambassador near Rossmoor Bar.) Their normal route would be to walk to Coloma to Rossmoor where they would hitchhike north on Sunrise to Fairoaks and then west on Fairoaks to Marconi (Linda K. lives very close).
1977 Citrus Heights, kidnapping, attempted murder of "Nancy" (real name Catherine H.) I can see a possible resemblance between this DeAngelo photo and the composite. This was covered by the 12/26/75 podcasters: 12-26-75.com/f/images-for-episode-19-nancy#edfeccda-cd2a-48aa-9f45-a663016c0e2c

There are a few other cases involving kidnapping:
However, after the murder of Janelle Cruz in 1986, there are no other murders attributed to him. Did he actually stop because being a cop he knew he'd end up being caught because of DNA? Actually he eventually was. Did he switch to kidnapping so the bodies would not be found or found so late that no DNA would be found?
