Sac DA wants to hear EAR personal experience stories

Joseph DeAngelo has admitted he is the Golden State Killer. If you’re from the Sacramento area, however, you likely know the confessed serial killer as the East Area Rapist.

His sentencing hearing will begin Aug. 18 and will end later that week with him being sent to prison for the rest of his life.

Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert wants to hear from people who lived through the terror of the East Area Rapist in the mid-1970s.

She is asking people to share the following:

How old were you at the time and in what general area of the county did you live?
How did his crimes impact you and your family?
How did you feel the day you heard DeAngelo was arrested?
How do you feel now that he has been convicted and will spend his life in prison?

People can share their stories by sending an email to [e-mail]. Your story may be shared publicly, but your full name and email address will be kept secret.
