Here's an interesting paragraph from that same abc10 article:
"Reid said it made no sense for Clifton, who was in the process of “collecting a $120,000 accident judgement and had recently closed on land to build houses,” to step out of his normal workday, brutally murder a 14 year-old girl, return home clean, and go out to a family dinner. “Which of these things is really more believable? That Clifton committed murder and somehow erased all physical evidence in two minutes... Or that an Exeter Police sergeant, with advanced degrees in forensics and investigations, currently charged in 13 other homicides; that he killed Donna and staged the scenes in an attempt to misdirect the investigation and to frame Clifton as the VR?”
Note $120K in 1976 would be worth $555k in 2020. After the conviction, as the 12-26-75 podcast has said, because he was given the death penalty (originally, overturned to life later), and because the accident judgment was meant to replace lost future earnings, and as an inmate he had no future earnings, he never received any money from said judgment.
Johnny,
You need to fact check the articles you present.
Firstly, Clifton did not have a normal work day. He worked as a handyman doing odd jobs. If I am incorrect, and he had a full-time job or career, please let me know.
Secondly, JJD does not possess an advanced degree. He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Sacramento State in 1971. Of course, he would of attended LE trainings and such, to engage in proper professional development; however, that is not considered an advanced degree, such as a master's or doctorate degree from an accredited university.
Furthermore, there is no evidence that am aware of that Clifton would have had had to get rid of all physical evidence "in two minutes" to be culpable of this crime.
The 12-26-75 duo are experts at cherry picking,🍒 and in my opinion, that is all they accomplish in their podcasts. Cherry picking is when one only selects evidence that is favorable to their case. All other evidence that does not favor their case is discounted.
