To clarify, I was just trying to pin down whether or not there were actually "teams" or actual cold case units. Erika is not an investigator is also what I was clarifying. And, yes I had heard Larry Pool was brought back in. I have spoken to Belli and I also did not name anyone specifically. Again, to clarify I was not really asking for names of individuals - just confirmation from an old post of Morf's from last year about how he spoke of people and they. He was trying to encourage people (us) into thinking 2017 would be the year possibly that we find the guy.
It did not happen obviously so I was asking if there was more than one person in any jurisdiction really. It sounded as though there were many working on the case (they and people) so I was trying to clarify that. If this case is to be solved anytime soon it would seem since the FBI became involved that there would be cold case units somewhere and if so I wondered what jurisdictions if there are any? And does anybody really know if there are units or teams - what jurisdiction they are in? Orange County has the most invested because of the several murders there and if they find him they will be the ones to prosecute - but - do they have a cold case unit? Don't need a list of names. Just clarifying because I for one do not live on false hope regarding this case. Don't need anyone to "out" anyone. No names or lists just any knowledge or encouragement that maybe some actually exist that are actually working on this other than Erika and the people you mention. You can always PM me if the information is too confidential and you can tell me (us) that. Can't blame us for wanting to know the facts on the investigative "teams" and what their numbers might truly be. Hard to really solve a case when one is searching for a needle in a haystack with only one person or maybe two here and there.
Winters this was my other post in this same thread it was also in response to what Morf said last year: his comment is in quotes
Just a thought, there have been "paid investigators whose sole job is to get this guy" as you have said, I say: for 41 years. Now it is December 2017. This has been said to me and I am sure to others - at least that they follow leads. For 41 years. I was told in 2016 before the FBI came in that there was no task force in Ventura County, no cold case unit. This was from talking to them. This was 2016 in the first half of the year. It had been very quiet for quite some time there. I imagine other jurisdictions have done more since they had more murders to check out in these cases. Anyway, you think this will be solved in 2018? I will continue to wait........
Erika Hutchcraft, Investigator
Orange County District Attorney’s Office
Bureau of Investigation – GSK TASK FORCE
And for now, her sole job is working this case
