albion: Since JJD got caught I have been doing a lot more chores and things around the house. But I did get caught up in the ancestry bug. And with only an autosomal test and access to a genealogy site, odds are you can find anyone. Mar 17, 2019 21:54:41 GMT
albion: Especially if the matches have their own family trees already made. Mar 17, 2019 21:55:15 GMT
albion: Unfortunately it takes an organized and methodical approach. One person I spoke with created a sheet and charted out the DNA bit by bit. It really makes it harder if their is some crossover from family to family. IE two Smiths who might have originated Mar 17, 2019 21:57:32 GMT
albion: From Virginia in the 1700's but ended up in Texas or California, both carrying a bit of the same gene. It seems to skew the results. Mar 17, 2019 21:58:23 GMT
albion: The YDNA test seems much more specific, but also seems to lose some of the broad relationships. And much more expensive, and less of a critical mass in the data base. Mar 17, 2019 22:01:01 GMT
albion: Basically if people are able to use the most basic of tools to find these adoptions, why is LE not able to utilize these tools. IE, the OCDA has their own database of 200,000 names and they couldnt find JJD. Or the other cases where there is DNA and yet Mar 17, 2019 22:02:46 GMT
albion: Still unsolved. Mar 17, 2019 22:02:54 GMT

goldrusher: Checking it out now, Deb. Thanks! Mar 18, 2019 12:29:34 GMT
