This is another case that got little publicity. This perp is in the right age group to be GSK(40ish in the early 1990's), but obviously he is not since they have the DNA. It also demonstrates the myth of progression in certain crimes.

Visalia cases linked to Fresno slaying
DNA ties sexual predator to a 1996 rape, killing.
Author: Jim Guy The Fresno Bee
Article Text:
A sexual predator who attacked eight women in Visalia between 1999 and 2002 has been linked through DNA evidence to the 1996 rape and murder of Debbie Dorian in Fresno.
Police say they have exhausted all of their leads in their search for the man and are appealing for help from the public to track him down. Vincent Zavala, state Department of Justice special agent supervisor, said it's likely that someone knows who he is. A $50,000 reward has been offered.
Dorian, an economics student at California State University, Fresno, was found dead in her apartment near Cedar and Teague avenues in north Fresno on August 22, 1996, by her father. Police said she had been bound, gagged and raped. Authorities believe she may have been killed two days earlier.
Police arrested a man in connection with the murder two months later, but he was released because his DNA did not match DNA evidence found at the crime scene.
In 2002, police linked the DNA evidence from the Dorian case to one or more of the Visalia cases, said Fresno police detective Robert Schiotis. In the past four years, police have been chasing down the leads. Now, they are emphasizing the Fresno-Visalia connection.
"We feel strongly that ... he had to have associated with someone in that time," said Zavala. "We will follow up every link we can. We have every link but the last link."
The Visalia cases occurred between July 1999 and August 2002. The attacker is described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old with blond or grey hair, between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet tall with a thin-to-medium build. In the attacks he wore a hooded sweatshirt or had a handkerchief covering the lower portion of his face. He used a blue steel, semiautomatic handgun in the attacks.
Seven of the eight Visalia victims were 20 years old or younger. One was 40.
Police say the attacker approached the victims in a residential or business area and brandished the handgun. All but one of the victims were then taken to an isolated area and sexually assaulted. He told the victims that he didn't want to hurt them but would shoot them if they didn't comply.
He sometimes inspected the victim's property with the intent of robbing them.
Most of the victims were by themselves, but on two occasions there were multiple victims together.
News of the new lead is causing some mixed emotions for family members.
"There's never a time we don't think about her," said Peter Essayan of Fresno, Dorian's uncle. "We wonder if they catch the guy, then what?"
