This is a post on Robert Jason Burdick, "Wooded Rapist", he committed a series of assaults throughout 1994-2008 occurred in Brentwood, Forest Hills, south Nashville, and parts of Wilson County. dubbed the “Wooded Rapist” because his victims always lived near the woods and the attacks happened on rainy nights. He used the sounds of a stormy rainy night to cover breaking into homes. One of the victims, (she herself not raped, her daughter was the intended target) stated she was awakened to someone dressed in dark colors and wearing a mask standing at the doorway to her bedroom.
Ear's favorite move.
“I was quite startled, as a matter of fact, and I actually was in such shock and in such disbelief and then I screamed,” she recalled. “…I didn't scream my daughter's name, I just screamed.”
She continued, “He came towards my bed and leaned over the bed, over the top of me, and drew a gun and put his hand over my mouth and said, in a whisper, 'Don't scream, stop screaming,' so I stopped.” He forced the mother at gun point into the 29 year old daughter's bedroom, the mother then stated the man told her to go comfort the children that could be heard crying in another room. After leaving the room heer daughter was raped by the man, Afterwards, the daughter said the man led her to the bathroom and forced her to get into the shower.
“He led me to the bathroom, turned on the water and it was at the point that he leaned over after turning the water on and said, ‘I know your ex husband and left',” she said. He left with that parting threat and it also showed he had been stalking and had prowled and spend time locating this particular victim , as he had done in all his other attacks. He had cut the phone lines as well.
Burdick owned a Security Company, of all things. This allowed him the time he needed to prowl and attack. He was caught by a Rookie cop who saw him parked and became suspicious.
