I've thought for a while that it is relatively unlikely the EAR would be caught. Unless someone who knows something comes forward and finally speaks out, we're running out of time. Witnesses are aging and will eventually all pass away, and if the EAR isn't already dead himself, he likely will be before long.
So I've thought all along that if he is to ever be caught that possibly a public genealogy database or advanced DNA techniques may be the best way to get him. If not now, at some point in the future. We can find more and more info every year using DNA. I think as we continue to advance DNA we can get "probabilities" about what a person may look like and even where his family lineage originated and what country or region of the world they originated from. I know techniques today even predict a person's last name and appearance based off of their DNA and data based on probabilities.
If they can find a last name or even less specifically a nationality or a country of origin of his family that could narrow it down even more. It may be a situation where over time as DNA technology advances it just gets narrowed down a little bit more and a little bit more until one day the technology is finally good enough to find a specific family line. One day a relative of a relative or even someone in his immediate blood line will have some DNA profile entered into one of our databases, and then we'll finally have a great shot to get him.
I don't know if law enforcement has already tried a public genealogy database with his DNA or not, so if they have someone here please inform me. There could be a relative of his out there who has their DNA logged.
Anyway, this is just my general take. I think this is the most likely way he is eventually caught. Hard work, persistence, and technology will seal the deal here. What do you think?
