The purpose of this message board is to discuss, debate, exchange ideas and theories, ask questions, and generally provide a shared space for folks interested in the EAR/ONS/GSK case.
Our forum is a little different in the sense that we work hard to foster and maintain respectful, productive discussion. While we do have a group of volunteers to help moderate the board, the decorum of the board is cultivated from the ground up by our members.
We enforce the following rules:

Feel free to engage in debate and discussion! We may not always agree with one another's point of view, the board exists so that we can respectfully converse about topics related to the case. No poster is banned for expressing an unpopular or alternate theory or idea.

- Do not threaten, insult, harass, or be rude to another poster.
- Do not start spam threads or any threads that are deliberately negative or meant to incite.
- Do not post personal information about any presumably innocent individual. This includes the names, initials, birthdates, addresses, work history, or any other private information. If you believe there is evidence to be investigated, please pass it along to the relevant Law Enforcement Department.
- Do not reach out on your own to anyone associated with Joseph DeAngelo or any potential victims or witnesses.
- Do not post any information which could compromise current ongoing Law Enforcement investigations.
- Do not discuss religion or politics. We all have our views, but this is not a place to debate on the two topics. Any thread or post that does relate to these matters will be deleted regardless of content.
- Do not present your opinion as fact. These cases are very complex, and it's important that we differentiate what we believe versus what has been proven.
- Do not post the content of private messages on any public board.
- Do not use multiple accounts or screen names.

Common Acronyms and Abbreviations:
- PM: "Private Message." Forum functionality that allows you to send a direct message to one or more members that only you and the recipients can read.
- LE: "Law Enforcement."
- POI: "Person of Interest." Before there was an arrest in the case, anyone who might be suspected of involvement was referred to as a “POI.”
- EAR: "East Area Rapist." The original name given to this offender in the 1970s during his home-invasion rape attacks.
- ONS: "Original Night Stalker." The name given to this offender to describe his murders in Southern California.
- EARONS: A combination of the above two acronyms.
- GSK: "Golden State Killer." A new umbrella label for all of the crimes committed by this offender.
- VR: "Visalia Ransacker." A series of over 100 crimes that took place in Visalia, California, which are now attributed to the Golden State Killer.
- JJD: "Joseph James DeAngelo." The man arrested and charged with these crimes in April 2018.
- Mod: Short for "moderator." A group of volunteers that can help you with whatever forum issue you might be having!
