Here's a very interesting POI I have come across. How I came across this person is really random. But random or not, this is not BS.
I decided to do some digging. Here's what I found:
He is dead and has been for a while.
He was the right age when the crimes began.
He was relatively young when he died. (Non-secretor issues perhaps?)
He was not from California originally, which is probably why he's not turning up in those yearbooks.
He was of Polish decent.
He was not, from what I gather, from a broken home.
He was from an area as a younger man that looks a lot like the neighborhoods he prowled later, but more middle class.
He was in the air force as a sergeant. (If EARONS shot the Maggiores, it's probably because my poi knew Brian could ID him, as others have pointed out.)
His father was in the Navy, and made a career working at a company that specialized in paint for military applications, which I find very interesting. (Could my poi have worked as a teen painter for his dad?)
My poi does indeed have a criminal record. He drove drunk, 40+years ago, while in the service. But I think records of that may have been lost to time. I found this information from a newspaper of the era.
He was in Vietnam, but I believe his tour might have been before Visalia started. (Yes, I believe there's a good chance ONS drove down to Visalia on the weekends to be the VR.)
He was discharged in either 1975 or 1976.
It appears he left California the year after the Cruz homicide.
He bounced around like you wouldn't believe after 1987: addresses in several different states, moved back and forth.
No, he wouldn't have had a problem tying the diamond knot -- based on his skill set.
Yes, I believe it's quite possible that damned dog we've talked so much about could have been EARONS only "friend".
Yes, I believe he was a bona fide drinker -- and that the drinking made things much, much worse over the years.
Yes, I do believe he was a painter, handyman, and lived a nomadic lifestyle.
Yes, I do believe he went back to terrorize Visalia in the mid 80s -- after the heat of D/S in Goleta ('81).
Yes, I do believe he killed Ester Collins in Katy, TX (in 1987). He was living near there at the time.
It doesn't look like he ever had any children of his own, but he does have living relatives you can test for DNA.
OCSD will be getting a call from me, unless someone gives me a better idea.
I hope this poi is EARONS. Let's close this thing. Once and for all.
