The SBSO was so convinced that the killings in Goleta were Brett Glasby and not connected to the EAR/ONS that I believe they thought that Offerman was beaten by Glasby and his cohort which I won't name. The sheriff said that he never saw anyone use a certain technique to break in to a place other than Glasby and the EAR/ONS. He also said the cohort left Santa Barbara the next day never to return. I have several thoughts on that. First of all, I think I'm not at liberty to say what the technique was but I did run it by Investigator Pool who said that he believed the technique was not unique at all and instead indicated an amateur. The EAR/ONS used many techniques to break in, including prying with a screw driver, kicking in a door, removing the frame around a window and removing the glass, making a hole in the glass so he could put his finger through to unlock the window or remove a dowel in the track. Then it turns out that Offerman's office was never broken into, the janitor was attacked after he had locked up and was out in the parking lot throwing away the trash before he was going to leave. His keys were stolen, but they never broke into the office. So almost murdered the janitor and then never broke in, yep that sounds very amateur all right. The janitor was not just the janitor for Offerman's office but also his condo and actually was hired to go in and clean up after the murders.
So this is just my thinking and suspicion for what it's worth. I think that there is a lot swirling around Glasby and said cohort. The cohort was arrested for murder in Sacramento. It was more of a gang type of murder and he claimed to just be the driver and testified against the others so got a very light sentence. So he had quite a connection to Sacramento. He has been in jail rather recently but was released and in another state. I've heard but cannot confirm he was involved in another murder....I can't get confirmation on this and don't know how he could still be free it that were so, so I really wonder about that, however it appears to me that he is not a nice guy to put it very mildly. He was born in Visalia if I understand correctly or at least has a connection to Visalia. He lived in Santa Barbara. Glasby spent a short time in Sacramento. I take it he didn't last long in Sacramento. Glasby and cohort did break-in's and were small time drug dealers. The sheriff said the technique Glasby used was the same as the EAR/ONS used and has never seen anyone else ever use that technique. (I am wondering if the technique was not Glasby's but the cohort's). Again Inv. Pool disagrees that the technique was unique. However, if Offerman's office was not broken into, I think he must have been talking about the technique used to break into Offerman's condo.
So Glasby lived very close by to Offerman. Glasby was a patient of Offerman AND Manning in a workman's comp case. (I'm not sure if cohort was too). Glasby and cohort have a connection to Sacramento especially cohort who also has a connection to Visalia. The break-in technique. The cohort left Santa Barbara the day after the janitor was almost murdered.
I actually do suspect that it was Glasby and cohort that assaulted Offerman's janitor. The cohort cannot be the EAR/ONS because he is of mixed race. Glasby has been cleared by DNA and died before Janelle was attacked BUT, there seems to be a connection. Glasby and cohort are probably 10 years younger than the EAR/ONS. Did they know him though. Did they meet him in Sacramento? Could it have been a drug dealing connection? It seems something is there but what? Glasby worked in construction? I don't believe he worked on the Calle Real project though but actually I don't know that. That would be very interesting to find out.
Sorry to rant!
