New January 2, 1978 Phone Call to Victim UPDATED 11.30.14

[Relentless]

On January 2, 1978 an EAR victim received a call from what LE believes was the EAR. The call was recorded by the victim on instructions from LE. That call was the infamous heavy breathing, "Gonna kill You" tape, cited at the ear-ons website. The same call can be found at the LA. magazine article website, relocated here  soundcloud.com/relentless-and-determined/131978-gonna-kill-you-call  I have used the LA website source because they provided a clean tape, minus the background music that accompanies the tape posted to the EAR web-page. The back story on this call can be found in the book by Larry Compton, Sudden Terror, page 307. The victim was home with her father (according to Sudden Terror) and watching TV when this call was made. Her father was in another room. The victim had received and recorded the "Is Ray There" call earlier in the evening.   

UPDATE: The background voices are CONFIRMED in the 1.2.78 tape are from the 1978 movie "BREAKING UP" which aired on the night of the call.  

I apologize for getting this wrong and truly regret not helping out and any misdirection I have caused.    





As I have worked on this tape, more pieces of conversation have been discovered. What follows is my interpretation of the voices in the background. Any TV sounds could have come from either side of the call and many do believe the background noise is from a TV, as someone said , "if so, it is the most boring TV show ever, even by 1970's standards". I would advise everyone to listen to the tape and decide for themselves what is going on in the background and make your own transcript.
 
What follows is my interpretation, best guess and updated (11.30.14) translation of the above-mentioned, January 2 , 1978 "Gonna Kill You" telephone call. The translation is a work in progress.

Is it me or is the adult female at the 17 or 18 second mark say, "Tell me you're not hanging around with him?" Might have also been, "Oh God, tell me you're not hanging around with him?"
At the 45 second mark it sounds like, "Were you going to make a call? I can't even get him to pick up the phone."

I'm not saying what I heard is 100% correct just my take on what I heard.
That said does it not sound like at least the adult female speaks in an accent of some type? Can anyone place it?

Thanks for your input.  I hear " stay away from it" or something like that. Although, "Oh God, tell me you're not hanging around with him?" would be the proper thing to say about the EAR.  I do notice an accent on the adult female, she sounds like she was raised somewhere other than Cali, but I can't place it.
