Hello to everyone,
There are many aspects of this case that bother me, but one thing that I have always found strange since I first read about it in Sudden Terror four years ago was the couple who lived at Thunderbird Place who discovered ligatures under their couch cushions while doing a "sweep" of their house. I believe this was in San Ramon, but I no longer have my copy of Sudden Terror to refer to, which had the most detailed account of this incident and subsequent stakeout. (somehow, my copy of Sudden Terror has disappeared from the Sribd app and it says it's not available. How does that work that Scribd can delete something I downloaded from my tablet? Now I can't find Sudden Terror anywhere on the Web, and I have no desire to purchase it from Amazon or itunes after already reading it three or four times).
For some reason, something always bothered me about this account, from the first time I read about it in ST. It seemed strange to me and my gut told me there was something off about the whole story. I don't know why. I mean, I do know why, but I was wondering if anyone else found the Thunderbird Place incident to be...troubling. I don't want to say that anyone is lying, because I really don't know, but I've always found the account of how the couple found the ligatures under their couch cushions to be...strange. I know they had developed a routine for checking their windows, doors, and locks every day. What made them look under their couch cushions? I don't believe anyone had ever reported the EAR stashing ligatures in homes for future use at that time, so what made the couple look under their cushions? I wish I had ST to refer to. I only have Quester's truncated account of the incident available at the moment, but it was Crompton who wrote about it and the stakeout that followed extensively.
What do others think about the discovery about Thunderbird Place? Do you believe it was legit? I think that others in areas where EAR hit later claimed to have found ligatures in their homes, but they never reported to the police. I don't know why this strikes me as suspect. What do other members think?
