It seems time to come out from the background. At least a little bit more. I am republishing Murder On His Mind under the Name A Family Member Speaks The Original Night Stalker.
The new cover is A Family Member Speaks It can be confusing so I will clarify it here. I am findons and Anne Penn and I am the granddaughter of Lyman Jones Smith. I have wanted nothing more than to help make people more aware of this case, and at the same time try to tell people that My Uncle Lyman Robert Smith and his wife Charlene were wonderful people who should also be remembered as more than victims of a murderer. So I have put my relationship and my family story into this edition so that hopefully it makes more sense as a more complete story. This edition is approximately 498 pages. Certainly it explains my interest in whether or not this case is ever solved. So, I wanted to give the good people here a heads up that I have completed this. I will eventually be taking the first edition down as this version will replace it. That is my hope. This book has what my thoughts are after investigating the mindset of the man known as EAR/ONS. Original crime information is included from EARS beginnings. When I told Larry Crompton what I thought he immediately had volunteers who work on the cases call me. Later I asked him why he had done that and he said "What you were saying could not be ignored" Following is the description on Amazon so far:
Anne Penn brings us True Crime in this Second edition of Murder On His Mind. This second edition includes A Family Member Speaks. The case of the Original Night Stalker aka East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer. Included Lyman Jones Smith's granddaughter talks about the effect the murders of Lyman Robert and Charlene Smith had on Lyman's father as well as the rest of the family that lived in Sacramento. What were the chances that the East Area Rapist would terrorize Sacramento for two plus years when Laurie was 19 - 21 and then move on to Ventura, CA murdering her grandfather's son and daughter in law in 1980? New family pictures and photo album plus new chapters about DNA, Cold Cases, DNA phenotyping as well as maps and geographic locations are included in this edition. Laurie grew up in Sacramento a mile away from her grandfather Lyman Jones Smith spending as much time as possible with her grandparents until they passed away never knowing who killed Lyman's first born son. Law Enforcement from every county EAR/ONS attacked have still never been able to find this man even though they have his DNA. Will the victims families ever know justice in these cases? 50 rapes and at least 10 murders have been connected in California.
Thank you for listening,
