You bring up some great points. Much of these things are stuff that many of us have thought already for a long time. Victims 1 & 3, he shows up nude from waist down. Then walks away from his crimes. (Victim #2 in between, they heard a car start & drive off). I think that the logical explanation is that EAR lived VERY CLOSE to victims 1 & 3 (and to victim #6 you mention here). This area is ground Zero. It's where the pre-1976 break-ins & dog beatings started, where the Mom & Daughters were raped around Dawes & Dolecetto.
My money is on this guy residing in 1976 within a quick naked sprint from his victims, 1,3,6. It's well known that serial criminals, killers, etc, start off close to home where they are comfortable and then branch out from there. We see this with EAR. By the way, the report reads "prior burglary of residence 3/7/73, sliding glass door pried, nothing taken" It does not read "burglary at prior residence"
This feels like it just has to be correct (though, how many times has that been said in regards to this case?).
It's hard to imagine that someone in their teens/early 20s would have the foresight in a time that was pre-internet and pre-DNA to create a false narrative in regards to his beginnings. Clearly he was clever enough to avoid detection for all these years, but if he was so prescient that in the 70's he was able to leave false breadcrumbs good enough to throw the 2018 version of LE off of his trail, that seems a bit beyond belief--but who knows?
I'm waist deep in this case but in terms of looking for my own POIs, I usually just assume anything I could contribute has been found by so many of you who have done a great job of digging. So I have a genuine question... it seems obvious that if we were to suppose that EAR lived within this naked sprint of victims 1, 3, and 6 that we would draw a circle around a reasonable running distance from these houses and literally check the records related to all of those houses in 1976. So, what's the biggest issue? Has this been done and there's just nothing worth noting (i.e. he was off the grid somehow someway?) Is it just literally impossible to find ALL the records necessary to do an exhaustive occupancy search of all of those residences? I'm genuinely curious to know.
Thanks to everyone for all their hard work.
