On behalf of our longtime forum members, I would like to welcome all new posters to our forum. We are the oldest and largest internet forum dedicated to a discussion of the criminal case known variously as "The East Area Rapist" (EAR), "The Original Night Stalker" (ONS), and "The Golden State Killer" (GSK").
We have been here for almost 5 years. And we have well over two thousand members. Our forum functions like most internet forums, such as websleuths, but with a few exceptions. One exception is the large base of case resources we provide. You will find links to books, articles, podcasts, videos, documentaries, and other resources, to help you get up to speed on this complex case. These resources can be found in our Library folder. I would encourage all new posters to acquaint themselves with these Library folder resources.
Another exception is that we take our forum here seriously. The forum was established by individuals with a genuine interest in the case, not by some institution where the message board is a tolerated appendage to maximize page views for some other function.
As a result, trolls here don't last long. Our two main moderators (wesley and winters) frequent the forum daily looking for inappropriate messages. In addition to reviewing material in the Library folder, you need to review our "Forum Decorum" section, which conveys the rules, and is linked here ...

Although we do not like to do so, we have been known to ban people, for violating these rules.
Since we are geared to a specific unsolved criminal case, we also offer posters the opportunity to submit threads on specific "persons of interest" (pois), or potential suspects. And we have rules for those threads as well , linked here ...

All these rules are not meant to be constrictive. As this is an open-to-the-public forum, we get all kinds of people with all kinds of points of view. The rules are meant to weed out inappropriate messages, so that everyone who reads the forum can feel like their time is well spent.
We need to warn you of something, however.
This case is addictive.
If you get more than 5 feet into the case, you will likely be hooked. And then it becomes difficult to turn the case off. You will find that you are thinking about it at times when you least expect to. I don't know of any pills you can take for this condition. The best way to overcome this situation is for law enforcement (LE) to solve the case. Then, you and I and the victims and their families and everyone else who posts here can move on.
But until that happy day arrives, and within the wide boundaries of Forum Decorum's rules, feel free to post your ideas, theories, questions, and responses to other messages in any thread you find particularly interesting.
Again, welcome. And don't hesitate to mention this case on your Facebook page and any other online site you happen to frequent.
