There are a couple of times, I've thought there may have been a female accomplice.
#1 the attack in Concord. It seems he was setting up housekeeping. The dishes! and the other items he took. He spoke to an "imaginary?" person. Was it an imaginary person? If this was a real person, I'm thinking female. There have been other times where it seems he had an accomplice. Perhaps it's not all or nothing at all. Perhaps at time he was talking to an imaginary person, but other times maybe he was not. How did he get all of those breakable dishes out of there? The victims did not hear a car start up. Could it be the accomplice was parked down the street, drove up to the house and left the car running while loading it with all the loot? That actually seems likely that the car would remain running, in case they would have to get out fast.
Did this accomplice think she was helping in a robbery? did she not know about the rapes? That is "if" there was even an accomplice. But proceeding on the premise that there was an accomplice at times"
#2 Queen Ann, night of Offerman/Manning. Teenage girl, Next door neighbor of burglary victim on Queen Ann, sees 2 people go up to the door and seemingly ring the door bell. First a female at 6:10 p.m. and then a male two times once at 7:00 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. It is likely they were in cahoots.
Midnight Offerman's neighbor heard Offerman's Porche drive into the parking lot and heard 3 voices. One that sounded like Offerman. One of an unidentified male and an unidentified female. Nobody knows if Manning accompanied Offerman at 10:30 p.m. on his errand to return a ski boot tree to his son, at his soon to be ex-wife's residence. Did Offerman go into the wife's residence. Did Manning wait in the car? or did Manning stay in the condo? Was the female voice Manning? or of someone else?
If the EAR/GSK had an accomplice. after he murdered Offerman/Manning did he need to eliminate her as a witness? If she knew he was a burglar, what would happen to her once she found out he was a killer? Is that why he was never caught because he didn't talk. He told nobody. And would a serial killer hesitate to kill the girlfriend? I think not.
If he had a female accomplice, and if he killed her shortly after O/M, is there a clue to be had in finding a female murder victim in Goleta shortly after Dec. 30 1979? Are there any Jane Does? If so could DNA find out who she was and thereby lead to him?
I looked at my notes and see no record in Goleta for murders of women after Offerman/Manning till Kym Morgan, 4/28/85. There must have been more. (Kym Morgan, different circumstances, and she was found dismembered.)
But back to my original thought, the future would be highly in doubt for any girlfriend of his. Can you imagine ticking him off. And if she knew he was a murderer? I think she would have been silenced.
It reminds me of serial killer Rodney Alcala who had many victims. One victim was identified by her sister by recognizing her in one of his photographs. The last picture taken of her was as she was joyfully riding along side him on a motorcycle in the dessert, just before she was killed. She thought she had met a great guy, a new boy friend.
p.s.1) I've been told that the teen witness to her neighbor's burglary suspect could not identify the person at 6:10 p.m. as being male or female by a very respected poster that knows a lot of facts on the case.
I've been told by another respected poster that said he read the police report that she did say female in the first two interviews with LE and in a 3rd under hypnosis added bizarre details that seem the work of someone trying to help and letting things she couldn't have seen surface from her imagination....(just my thought on the hypnosis details that I don't buy).
I've been told by someone else that has a connection to the teen girl that she lied. When asked why, was told she doesn't believe a teen would be looking out the window and that she lied because that's what teens do. I didn't believe this, until I read the details that came out under hypnosis and I don't think she could have seen what she said she saw under hypnosis, so I don't know what to think.
p.s. 2) There were two women murdered in Santa Barbara before O/M: 9/19/79 Yvonne Hill and Diane Craddock shot in their home. I wish I had more info on them...were they tied up? etc.
Is there any information available on their cases.
