Hello posters ...
This message is to inform you that I have decided to resign as forum administrator.
From the beginning of the forum, almost exactly 5 years ago, I have been either a moderator or the administrator. It's been a great experience. But I am exhausted. It's time for someone else to take over now, someone knowledgeable about the case who can breathe new life into the message board. And the timing is right for this change, I think, given that the arrest back in April altered the nature of the EAR/ONS case.
Five years ago I would never have dreamed that the forum would have attracted literally thousands of people, whose mutual interest in the EAR/ONS case inspired a lot of confidence that the case would eventually be solved. And apparently it has been.
In my opinion, posters here contributed at least indirectly to a favorable outcome because the public discussions kept the case from being forgotten, and functioned as a central clearing house for victims and their families to spread the word about what had become a much neglected criminal case.
During these years I have met many very nice people online. Their intellectual curiosity and insight, their sense of humor, their dogged determination that the case be solved has been wonderful, and more than worth the price of occasional troll annoyances.
Recently, I asked "winters" to take on the job of forum administrator. And she has graciously accepted. Not only does she have the needed breadth and depth of knowledge about the EAR/ONS case, but in addition she's a whiz with computers. I am confident that she will be a terrific administrator.
I'll still be around, but not in a staff capacity. Moderators will now report to winters, not me. If you have any questions, inquiries, problems, about either your experience in the forum or about the case itself, kindly direct your PMs to one of the moderators or to winters.
I will have no official authority to do anything, apart from posting my rambling, incoherent thoughts and opinions about the case from time to time.
Cheers,
Drifter
